Jakubauskas Claimed

Reports surfacing that Chris Jakubauskas has been claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jakubauskas was a decent pitcher for us this season coming in roughly average. He's not a big loss.

And here's the official press release link.

yay now we have 12 spots open on the 40 man roster!

That doesn’t seem excessive

New players mean new jokes

As long as guys like Jakubauskas are replaceable we may as turn those guys over to keep things fresh.

Well that sucks.

FUCK THE ANGELS! FUCK THE ANGELS! FUCK THE ANGELS!

...what the devil....?

perhaps I was off on my Rule 5 rules and we do need to add Ramirez and Pineda. That’s funny because I thought logic might apply and that players wouldn’t be counted until they were actually using the facilities.

Whatever. Manuel is nothing interesting. The Ostrich is a loss. I’m going to let Marc represent the outrage I should be feeling because I don’t have a lot of energy at the moment.

You're having the reaction now that I had when we got rid of O'Flaherty.

Someone...

Should really put together an “All Ugly” team. The Mariners would already have more then a few contributions…

Still technically alive.

Minor league free agent now, though.

I've been away for a while (work, family, etc) and have not been able to keep up with the Mariners on day to day followings

but if Jackie Z keeps up peculiar moves like this I am guessing his shine will come off rather quickly. This was a great guy to have around who could run a stellar ERA in spot starts. I am hoping there is much more to the PLAN.

what

I see no reason why this should change anybody's opinion of GMZ

We A) don’t know the full roster addition/subtraction story yet, and B) while at first glance these moves seem odd, we didn’t just DFA Felix

They don't even seem odd

If you’re emotionally attached to Jak, you feel sad. If you’re not, it’s a chance to annoy Marc. It’s not like it actually impacts the team.

Ha Ha

I had a very similar reaction when I heard the news.

Careful with this.

Last time people had similar reactions my brother got his toes bitten off by killer whales.

Aww man :(

Not sure why we had to put him on waivers in the first place but he’s replaceable.

Goodbye Jak, I didn’t think much of you as a player but you’re damned photogenic and we’ll always have that.

Now find me someone who’s easier to pun.

Sorry

I haven’t been an avid reader until recently. Was/still am a USSM fan, but picked up on this site because I’m a huge John Morgan fan and, well, it’s a part of the SBN network…

No it's okay

I’m pretty sure Paul was just referring to that from the getgo and didn’t really feel the need to point it out tiil Corco asked because I figured he hadn’t seen it before.
