PrintReports surfacing that Chris Jakubauskas has been claimed off waivers by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jakubauskas was a decent pitcher for us this season coming in roughly average. He's not a big loss.

perhaps I was off on my Rule 5 rules and we do need to add Ramirez and Pineda. That’s funny because I thought logic might apply and that players wouldn’t be counted until they were actually using the facilities.

So.....if we have this many roster spots open, why would we feel the need to try and pass him through waivers?

I've been away for a while (work, family,etc) and have not been able to keep up with the Mariners on day to day followings
but if Jackie Z keeps up peculiar moves like this I am guessing his shine will come off rather quickly. This was a great guy to have around who could run a stellar ERA in spot starts. I am hoping there is much more to the PLAN.
I see no reason why this should change anybody's opinion of GMZ

They only seem odd to me was because we already had 10 spots open, and we're certainly not adding 10 guys to protect from the Rule 5
and now we have 12 spots open.
I’d be fine with DFAing Jaku or Manuel at a later date once we have somebody to fill their spots, but at this point it seems unnecessary
