The Phillies are hitting .000 with RISP in the World Series.
What're ya gonna do with those pies, boys?
Other than A-Rod's mom, you're the only person on Earth rooting for the Yankees.
What're ya gonna do with those pies, boys?
I want the Yankees to win...
I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!

At least the Phillies had some base runners.

Over-under on how long until someone mentions that maybe Sabathia has had too much rest?

Didn't it just kind of get mentioned?

Seven days rest they said he has prior to this evening's start.

Joe Buck already alluded to it earlier.

I don't really care enough about either of these teams to root, but go Phils I suppose.

You hear that, guys? $30M for Raul was one of the best offseason signings in history!
I hate McCarver.

Yes, because a career year at age 37 makes it the best signing ever.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
I am sure he will take pride in his extreme efforts.
Actually I bet he is traded to be a DH for his last year of the contract.
I switched to the TV from my laptop
and have Dave O’Brien and Rick Sutcliffe. Infinitely preferable.
Fuck Anaheim.
Where are you getting that? 710 online is broadcasting the Brian Kenny show.

Gameday audio, I'm guessing.

I still can't quite believe that Cliff Lee has become the soul-eating dominant ace that he is.
After all those years of flaky failure to live up to his talent…he’s gotta turn back into a pumpkin somewhere around the 6th inning of Game 1, right?

Still only two years removed from tipping his cap to the Cleveland fans

Rick Sutcliffe doesn't think there's a better defense in baseball than what the Phillies have.

Well he did mention that they were second in fielding percentage
so I guess it must be true.
Fuck Anaheim.
Damn.
Utley is winning this game by himself.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?
Chase Utley has some of the greasiest hair I have ever seen on a major league baseball player
Much less one who looks more or less like a normal guy with his batting helmet on.

Cano just did his best Lopez impression there.

I guess he could have dove but he realized he would not have been able to throw him out
thats why he tried to get to it stending up. I was actually impressed by his range. Tex should have taken the ball…

Left fielders are not responsible for balls hit down the right field line.
Thanks for that, Tim.

I hate having to sit through God Bless America
at least I missed the National Anthem today.
Fuck Anaheim.
I like the National Anthem.
I agree with you on GBA. I change the channel. Just do the 7th inning song and get back to the game.
Hmmm.... the middle of the line-up has 2 of the 4 hits against him.
What're ya gonna do with those pies, boys?
So 1st and 2nd, nobody out..
Chase Utley takes 5 pitches, 4 out of the strike zone.. and is called out on strikes. Nice job there ump.
You have to have some idea.
Besides. Jeff said This Is Exciting.

I hate to beat a dead horse, but Jones is a an All Star and Tillman hasn't made his Major League debut yet.
In the end, the Bedard trade has a good shot to push the Colon deal.
The worst part is that Tillman has made his major league debut
and looked fairly good given his age/development

I regret not saving the pictures Felix put up on his MySpace of him and his daughter.
They would have been a fun keepsake, but he ended up deleting them before this all occurred to me.
My bad. Forgot his cup of coffee.
Guess that proves he’ll never make it after all.
The Bedard trade was obviously Godawful but it is not even in the same stratosphere as terrible as the Colon trade.
by Aaron Campeau on Oct 28, 2009 8:03 PM PDT up reply actions
You're right.
I’m biased against the Bedard trade because of how much it has affected me for the worst. The Colon trade was amusing to me then (“He didn’t go to NY!”) and was pleasing later (I like the Indians as much as I can like another AL team), so it’s been tough for me to see it as something negative.
Wait five years and check out the difference between Gutz and Jones.
It’s going to be awhile, but I’m on pins and needles to see how they compare.
For a minute I was convinced Guti + Langerhans > Jones + Choo
But between Franklin and Jones alone, I’m content thinking of it as a wash.
I'm going to wait and see how it turns out in the end.
Safer that way, plus I’m patient like that.
Robert will win the US presidency in 2012, I guarantee it.
by .Taylor on Oct 28, 2009 8:22 PM PDT up reply actions
Two years of Bedard vs. half a year of Colon.
And Tillman pitched in 12 games this year. He had a 5.36 tRA.

I am rooting for the Phillies but if Nick Swisher leads the Yankees to a WS title and wins the MVP I'd be happy.
I love watching the Yankees made to look foolishy.
The 2009 Pregame Picks Winner and Iron Man of Halos Heaven.com
New York yankees have this certain look about them.
A certain look that I hate.
Bill Simmons on House in 2004
5:13 — You know Fox’s upcoming medical drama “House,” the one with the scary-looking doctor with the cane who screams “You’re risking a patient’s life!” and looks like even he can’t believe he’s the lead of the show? How did Omar Epps get roped into this one? Did he lose a bet? Isn’t there a sports movie he should be making? Should I write one during the commercials? Just tell me what to do here.
Based upon the trailers, House looked like the worst show ever
I missed the first two seasons because of that
Do you read magazines?
I’ve seen at least two full-page spreads this month from advertisers who Jeter poses for, congratulating him for his historic accomplishment of passing Gehrig on the all-time yankee hit leader list.
I imagine this all the time about Felix.
Since NY courted him after all. And just think of the hype they gave Joba, Hughes, and Kennedy (!).
I visited yankee Stadium two summers ago.
The program for the game’s cover featured a close-up of Derek Jeter against a blue backdrop. Accompanying the photo were the words “Sky’s the Limit.” This bothered me for reasons I can’t begin to articulate.
I like justifying my lack of enthusiasm

B-Ref says that Teixeira is 3 for 3 with 2 doubles as RH vs RHP
Any way to figure out who he batted righty against?
Without doing any research I'm guessing it was Tim Wakefield
by Jeff Sullivan on Oct 28, 2009 8:37 PM PDT up reply actions
I still think it's weird that in 32 career AB against Wakefield he's hit RH against him three times
but I’m guessing you are correct.
by Aaron Campeau on Oct 28, 2009 8:49 PM PDT up reply actions
The Yankees have seen a lot more of Wakefield than the Rangers, Braves or Angels
Probably their own suggestion

I must say I find the way he was used this year to be hilarious
He has to have come close to setting a record for littlest amount of playing time by a non Rule 5 player who was on the active rostera ll year

Except he wasn't on the active roster from June-August
Never mind

I once started a fanpost of players worse than Willie Bloomquist that played on WS winning teams.
It wasn’t very funny and he was too much of a lightening rod for shit storms so I dropped it.
Like Adam Morrison
Who got a ring with the Lakers despite barely playing last year.

Yeah, I just love the hyperbole by the commentators
I didn’t really notice a slant either way, I think they just run out of things to say, so it just becomes ass kiss rodeo.
Yes, and that statement is "We won."
