FootbaLL II
LL football went off without a hitch last Saturday. (Unless you count little girls taking our field a problem)
I know I would like to play again ASAP, and other people seem excited to play again too. So what I'm suggesting is that we all meet again at 1 o'clock on Saturday (the 24th) at the Cal Anderson playfield. If worst comes to worst (worst being those infamous little girls) we will move to Seattle U's playfield. It held up pretty well considering the monsoon like weather that preceded us and all the good trampling we gave it.
So who's in?
People who are playing:
JamMasterJesus
Mariner John
Two Rs and Two Ls
Kirkharbaugh
Play Sports In Seattle
Jaejo
BrettJMiller
Tentative:

Wish I could
I have class this Saturday.
Plus my legs are still pissed at me for running barefoot in the mud so much. Yeshk that was a bad idea.
Not me.
If you guys schedule another football game that coincides with when the Seahawks are in town, I’m definitely down.
I will smash your face into a jelly.

There will be plenty of these games, don't worry.

I'm pretty sure I'm in.
I think I’m actually going to go see if I can pick up flags for an attempt at flag football so we could actually have running plays.
I would suggest again the bringing two shirts, one white, one color… I thought that was pretty good.
Also, JMJ, if you’d like a ride up there, I would be happy to take care of it.

Flags procured.
I’ve got 20 flags; 10 yellow, 10 orange/red.

I have a thing that afternoon
Otherwise I’d make it.
Perhaps
I may not be able to get there, but can know that better as the weekend approaches

Also
My maybe becomes a resounding “no” if you plan to play tackle. Chances for injury are just too high for no real gain in my enjoyment.
The most contact will be flags.
Tough on the fingers, I know.

In.
And up for anything.
Flag, 2 hand, soft, hard tackle.
Cal, Seattle U, Judkins, Greenlake.

I signed up for a tree planting thing from 10 am - 2pm
but I can bail early at 1230ish (I did it last week and bailed early as well).
But if we can’t get at least 8 people to commit by Friday night, I may opt to bail on football (hopefully won’t be the case).

I just remembered I have to do Hallympics Saturday but I live like half a mile away.
Less if it’s at the Seattle U field. I should be able to come for the start of it at least.
Or I might be coming for the end of it.

I am still fuzzy on the time it starts. I've heard 1 and I've also heard later.

I'd be down to join you all in the not-so-distant future
But this Saturday’s a no-go for me. Have fun!

I just got home after the softball doubleheader
that followed the football game, which was preceded by two hours of tennis.
I sense epic levels of pain coming on… pain that has so far only been imagined in the psychic recesses of the most twisted of torture technicians.
I suggest one of those fancy hyperbaric chambers for you.

So the hurt hasn't come on in full force yet, but I can definitely feel it coming on.
Totally worth it. My shoulder is still killing me, it feels like it’s slightly out of place and I can’t get it just right. I’m ready for the next game, though. Next week? Or is everyone too beat?

I'm already ready.
I slept from 10 to 10, and am about to take a power nap now,but I’m already feeling better now than I did yesterday.

I would really like to pLLay, and hey, I'm not even beat up from the last two.
But how about not right on Oct. 31st…. Sunday maybe, or is that too conflicting-with-the-Hawks?
I was talking to Max about this
and we were thinking that every two weeks is a good idea if we want to do it consistently. There were some times a couple summers back where we did softball on a two-week basis and it worked out pretty well.
Also, we should scout around for another field. I would suggest to take a look at the playfield at Garfield High School, since they recently renovated it. I think the football field behind the school on the east side may be artificial turf.

In case it helps:
1) Dahl Field is usually empty
2) Roosevelt High School has an excellent field, but I don’t know what their Saturday schedule is like.
3) There is a park with a generally open field on 50th and 9th but again, not sure about Saturdays.
4) Meridian Park, same thing (50th and Meridian)
5) Bryant Playground has some room, and I’d doubt that they’d have sports played there, but it’s smaller.
Just a few ideas for you guys. Not that helpful because I don’t know their schedules, but at least they generally have open areas.
...and now I'm here
Championship Field (Seattle U's soccer field) is usually open
Except for Sundays.

And it's home to some of the worst field conditions known to man.
That’s where we played FootbaLL 2009 I, and it was a muddy mess.
