If the Red Sox come back and win this series it means they would have won 3 games in a row

back in 2004 they won 4 games in a row. But three and four together and you get 34. 34 is Adenhart’s number. Book it peeps the Red Sox are going to ALCS.

Is there any way that we can collectively beg SafeCo to stop with the Larry the Cable Guy thing during rallies? It’s a trend I really hope they don’t bring back next year.

the crew chief's "explanation"

“The challenges in working foul line: Number one is, we don’t do it a lot. It’s a tough one to practice,” Tschida said. “Your first movement is always to get out of the way because we’re not accustomed to having fielders come from the side. … So getting into a position is a little bit foreign. It’s a little bit uncomfortable, and I don’t offer that as an excuse for an incorrect decision, but it can contribute to the call becoming a little more difficult.”

“Phillies left-hander Jamie Moyer is recovering at a Philadelphia hospital from a blood infection. Moyer’s wife, Karen, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Saturday that her 46-year-old husband is fine now after an infection following abdominal surgery. Moyer was expected to stay another night at the hospital. He had surgery last week on tendons in his left groin and lower abdomen.”

It's funny how a game like today's can be a clarifying event.

I just realized that, no matter how much I hate the Angels, I hate the Red Sox much, much, much more. Because I find myself in the position of cheering happily for Vlad & Co. here.

And the fact that it’s a 3-run two out 9th inning comeback to complete a humiliating sweep is just that much more sweet.

Still, I want to see a Twins/Rockies series.

Nah, Boston is clearly the greater evil here.

It’s not really a tough call. Just like in World War II you could acknowledge that the Soviets were rotten, evil motherfuckers whilst still strongly preferring them over the Nazis.

Actually, the Soviet/Nazi paradigm explains the way I feel about a lot of postseason baseball matchups.

Go Twins.

If the yankees sweep, then the ALCS doesn’t start for five full days. If the ALCS ratings drop, it will be suggested that this was due to the long break between the division series and league championship. Major League Baseball then may try to remedy this by shortening the length between games in the playoffs. This will negatively affect the Mariners, as once we finally return to the playoffs we’re going to want as many days off as possible, since that will maximize the number of potential Felix starts.
