Bargains ----> Team that doesn't deserve bargains
Rocco Baldelli will be signing with the Red Sox.

I really liked Baldelli as an option for LF next season. I imagine he won't be that expensive and we had the depth necessary to not make me afraid of his fragile body.
And if that weren't enough, John Smoltz is apparently joining him

What fantastic news.

F'ing Red Sox
I want to like Rocco. It becomes significantly harder now.

What becomes significantly harder?
Certainly not filling our OF. That’s already crowded as it is.

I do find interesting the extent to which the Red Sox, despite their big budget,
have read the market correctly, while the Yankees haven’t (not that it will hurt the Yankees anytime soon).
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.

When you do a good job with your budget and have a budget the size that they do
you can afford 4 quality OF and 6 great SP.

Meanwhile, they're still demanding more money from New York.

I was talking about Boston
I think the NYY don’t really spend that smart but they have so much money it doesn’t really even matter how intelligently they spend.

From what I've read/heard...
Baldelli is not suited as a starter in any capacity. His role is basically as a super 4th outfielder because his disease really limits how much he can play. Maybe I’m wrong on this, but I couldn’t see him being a starter for us. It’s not like a pitchers elbow injury where he is either fine or blowing out his arm, it seems to have more to do with playing day to day and having the stamina to play a whole season.
I still think this is a steal for the Red Sox because he becomes the best fourth outfielder in baseball.

Supposedly he has a similar disease that's fixable.
There was a post here a while ago about it.

Yeah. His mitochondria are fine.

Which disappoints me
‘Mitochondria’ was fun to chant at him
