The Official LL FanFest FanPost: Last Call!
Hey - look, they actually have the schedule up!
Roll Call in the comments! I'm there Saturday. With my bro-in-law as usual. Or wait - comments are closed for this and I can't seem to re-enable them.
Curiously, the Dugout Dialogue (Q&A) sessions are missing some prominent people. Howard and Chuck aren't currently scheduled. Hmmmm... Interesting...
Updating this FanPost. It needed more Mike Morse anyway. He'll be there, along with our shiny new center fielder. Here's the list of folks who'll be there during Q&A and/or autograph sessions:
- Don Wakamatsu
- Mike Morse
- Aaron Heilman
- Franklin Gutierrez
- Roy Corcoran
- Mark Lowe
- Tyler Walker
- Ty Van Burkleo
- Lee Tinsley
- Dave Niehaus
- Rick Rizzs
- Mike Blowers
- Dave Sims
And what's a FanPost from PositivePaul without photos?

(Last year's partial crew at the Q&A)

(Buhner says "YOU MUST COME TO FAN FEST!")

(I AM SILVA HEAR ME ROAR!)

(Red Was There. So should you have been.)

Got tickets.
Work might screw me, though.

That's when I'm planning.
I’ve got Sundays booked always (playing keyboards at church) so Saturday is it for me…

Are they ever going to announce whos going to be at FanFest???

I could have done without the extra helping of Morse.
Looks like I’ll be able to take the family on Saturday. It’ll be a day of driving (ten hours combined) broken up by fun at Safeco, but it’ll be well worth the trouble.

Damn no Felix this year.
I’ll be there anyway though. Gut and Heilman are good enough to come out for. Hopefully I’ll see some of you guys there too.

Wow. I am not excited about meeting any of those folks.
Gutierrez is the only one I am interested in getting an autograph of. However, I prefer to have them sign photos that I have taken.
Jack-Z is the other person I am interested in seeing.
After the LL/USSM event, I am excited enough for the season.

Hints for young kids?
Can somebody post suggestions for bringing young kids – 4 and 7? What times on which days are the least crowded? What should we line up for first? Etc. I assume we should bring gloves – but what about a bat?
Thanks,
-r

They have bats for the kids.
I would try at the very start of the day.
Go to the Q&A and get in the front rows so the kids can shake hands with the players. They will love it. Don’t get those cards to get an autograph upstairs. The lines for that are far too long for little kids.
2-3 hours is enough time to do everything. The longest line is to round the bases. It is about 20 minutes at the busiest point.
Have fun. I will be there on Saturday.

I would also bet they have gloves for the kids.

I don't recall them having gloves. Generally the kids bring their own...

I disagree, the lines aren't very long and plenty of little kids sit through it. Plus, you've gotta teach them patience somehow.
It only takes about 30-40 minutes to get through the line.

Depends...
When I took my kid the first time, we waited in line for 2 hours just so he could get a ‘graph from “Norm Norm.” He was 2 at the time and I swore it’d be awhile before I took him again. The last few times I’ve gone, we were sure to sit in the stands early so we got to the front of the line (with my bro-in-law, not my son). Once the lines started, yeah, if you’re at the front of the line it only takes a half hour or so to make it through. But woe to you if you’re standing in the back of the line for several hours.
The lines for the fielding practice are usually long, as are the lines for the batting cages. Running the bases gets backed up for a bit, but there are several lulls where you can jump right in. There are other activities that don’t have too long of a wait.
This is where I’m still waffling whether or not to take my kid. It’d be fun for him, but there is a lot of waiting around. I’m sure he’d grab the mike during the Q/A session at least once or twice and ask some crazy question, so it might be fun to just hang there. At the same time, the selfish part of me wants the flexibility to just hang with people without having to worry about whether or not he’d be able to handle what we want to do…

yeah, you are the one with offspring. You would know this stuff better than me.
I’ve gone the last 4 years but never with children, so different experiance.

Can I get the day off work?
Can I get down there from Bellingham without a car? Can I even get tickets?
We shall see.
Is that the light at the end of the tunnel, or the headlights of an oncoming train?

I'll be there.
Not sure what day, but I suppose if Paul is going on Saturday, then I should go on Saturday :)

LEE TINSLEY!
We don’t need to stop here.
Yes we do!
Anyway I should be going on Sunday. Hopefully I win more tickets at the trivia game this year.
