I know this isn't really relevant to Jim Street's competence
but I have a friend who worked at MLB.com over the summer and he told me authors have no input in their own articles’ titles
Yeah, writers almost never write headlines at larger news outlets.
The story is still pointless (RBIs WOO!), but this just looks like a case of a copy editor either being dumb or working too fast.
That’s pretty awful work, though. How do you read the story, then write a headline that’s pretty much the opposite of the point of the story? The damn lede spells out that the whole thesis of the article is that Raul is awesome because he gets RBIs.
Stuff. He's always had it, he learned how to throw it over the plate consistently.

I know we probably can't quantify it but
do you think the rotation of different catchers has had an effect on Felix’s curveball (or his other pitches)? Much like people are saying that Hasselbeck lacks confidence in his receivers so that’s why his throws are lacking.
We can’t have been the only ones to notice that most of the catchers this year have had problems blocking the balls in the dirt, so maybe Felix is trying to (or subconsciously) take something off his pitches.
Felix's problem is that he's in love with his fastball.
His fastball is not a good pitch.
Who are these Rays you speak of?
