At first I laughed at the exchange between Felix and Carlos
Then I got mad.
I fucking hate you Mariners
What a boring looking game.
I’m not even upset I missed it.
I'm back to liking midgets too much.
Coach loafers aren't really all that gay.

My issue is much more with the flared jeans than the loafers.

Yeah, they're both bad, and in combination even worse.

wow..
How did Seattle fail to score in Texas with some crap pitcher going for the Rangers? They must’ve gotten the Strasburg memo.
You HAVE watched this team this year, haven't you?
They can fail to score against anybody, at any time.

We drew zero walks.
I don’t really want to look that up, but we’ve done that like 30 times this season haven’t we?
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
Today was the ninth time this season we were shutout.

Okay, so I looked up the wrong thing.
I’ll go search for this now.

More interesting/random:
Four times in there (8 games) they didn’t draw a walk in back to back games.
the other angels fan
Indeed.
Also, failing to draw a walk three times in four games between April 16 and 19.
I’ve emailed a few researchers who might be able to find out the record for walkless games in a year.

the lumber
curiously enough, just today mlb.com mentioned that the M’s have been hitting .292 since the break, second in baseball. Thank God there’s only one Nippert.
Jeff, you have an enormous power.
I know this isn’t true, but it seems as if every time you knock a pitcher for being shitty, he shuts down the Mariners lineup, or rather the Mariners lineup lays down for him.

The pitchers ARE shitty
The M’s have a knack for making shitty pitchers look good because they routinely swing at shitty pitches that miss the zone. This leads to outs. I think it’s the power of hacking at work.
I'm not arguing the pitchers are any good. Just saying that Jeff has ridiculous power.

I gave him crap for that in the game thread, but seriously: Nippert *should* be a good pitcher.
It’s perhaps not surprising that he can be successful for a start here or there.
I feel much worse about the Jeremy Sowers loss(es), or the Doug Waechter abomination.
600 people showed up for the Braves/Marlins game today.

I wonder how a team like that survives to 2011
(Assuming their stadium gets built by then without further delay.)
Well, they did "sell" 11,211 tickets today.

Revenue sharing ensures the Marlins will never go away.

Wow.
Even the Expos rarely had fewer than 2,000 fans attend.

Definitely not a first for the Marlins.

I didn't think this team could surprise me
but this game snapped our 4 game win streak which is (so far) .the longest of the season As bad as it has been I could have sworn they had a few 5 or 6 game streaks …. sigh….
Technically yesterday snapped that streak, but nonetheless, yea, we suck.
