I Guess I Should Probably Post Again
Yesterday's game was perfect.
Carlos Silva's line drive rate over his past ten starts is 31%.

Can you post about how my bank account is fine next?
You seem to have the magic touch and I could use more cash.

A $25,000 student loan is always a quick fix.
And when tuition cost for the school year is only $5000, that is a lot of cash hanging around.
(It’s my first student loan and I will be graduating in April)
But I know you probably aren’t in school so you don’t qualify. However, I can give you a good interest rate on a loan. ;)
Tell me you don't need me to tell you how a $25k loan is not a "quick fix" for anything.
You’re going to be paying that $25K back for a long, long time.
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
In 14 years when he's still paying off the $25k he borrowed for a $5k need
let’s check back and see how he feels then.
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
It's really more than a $5k need.
I quit my job so I could finish school by April.
And as a finance major, this loan is a really good deal. I would rather spend 14 years to pay off $25,000 in school loans because tomorrow’s dollars are going to be worth less even though the amount will probably total $35,000-40,000 in payments… if I choose to take that long to pay it off. And the $25,000 is interest and tax free for the next 15 months, so I have time to get another job if I want (and will have to after I graduate).
You'll still have other bills to pay
An industry standard is largely irrelevant to the issue of your personal needs.
FanGraphs
Do they have the ability to post certain stats over an adjustable time period (like say, Carlos’ last 10 starts)? If not, is there any site that does (for LD%, FIP, and such)?
Sorry for asking. I just want to get more command over using certain stats.
Don't believe so
but Fangraphs is pretty easy to copy over to Excel if need be.

Just copy what you want and paste as text
Not as quick as B-R, but it’s a <1 minute process.

The filters are awesome
You can filter by each month, last 7 days, last 14 days, last 30 days, last calendar year, last two calendar years, and last three calendar years – all the stats on the site are available under each filter.
If you need to know his last 10 starts, you can pull his game log and calculate yourself, or just go to “July”, then “August”, and average the two together (using IP as your weighting) and you can get it that way.
Excel is easier, but if you really want to, Fangraphs can sort it for you.

Line Drive Rate
I recall reading that for hitters, the line drive rate is mostly random. How about pitchers? Is this a trait like groundball percentage or mostly random as well?
It has a low yty correlation, but there's still an element of control
When your LD rate is this high over a given period of time, it’s quite likely that you’re doing something wrong.

Thanks for the insight
I must admit I overlooked the “last ten starts” bit of your post. That’s probably more than 200 batters faced.
So, what is he doing wrong? Does pitchfx show anything in terms of stuff/location? Is he pitching hurt maybe?

I'd have to make a Data Fairy request to properly answer this question
but my first inclination is to say that his stuff sucks.
