Brandon Morrow will draw the start, but left-hander Jarrod Washburn will be lurking in the background should Morrow falter or run up a high pitch count.

Washburn hasn't pitched since Aug. 30 because of a strained abdominal muscle. He's ready to get in some innings and a pain-free performance on Tuesday would leave him in position to get a subsequent start, according to manager Jim Riggleman.

Lets make this interesting

If next years team is within 5 games of .500 at the end of play on August 31st I get to be made mod for September 09. If not than J/M/G each get to cockpunch me once at their choice of time and venue.

Griffey will never get booed in Seattle.

Seriously, while we all think we can contend next year, if the Mariners “tear it down”, letting Griffey come in and DH while putting up a .250/.350/.430 isn’t the worst thing in the world. Let the guy ride off into the sunset.

.243/.348/.411 this year.

Safeco is good for left-handed hitters. That’s really not a bad estimate of what he would do.

Whether he’d want to come here is another thing. But if he wants to, and the M’s are going into the Season with Tuiasosopo and the rest of the Rainiers up with the team, it doesn’t hurt anything to give him a final season as a Mariner.

If I may comment on the teaser/ep summary

I plots where a major character is “leaving” because we all know they’re not gonna, so the dialouge will really have to RISE ABOVE to redeem what I’m sure is going to be a meh premiere.

Though nothing could be worse than House’s leg being inexplicably healed then abandoning the concept an episode later.

by JI on Sep 16, 2008 5:06 PM PDT up reply actions

One of my big pet peeves is pointless “sexy” or “violent” scenes inserted in the episode strictly for trailers, it served little or no purpose in the episode other than to be there for a cheap thrill.
