In XKCD

all the comics have alt text, most of which completes the joke.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

When I first discovered XKCD I read every comic until the most recent one at the time. I didn't discover the alt text till about halfway through.

So I had to go back and read them again. That sucked.

"All I’ve ever done is be Juan Pierre when I wear this jersey. They’re sticking it to me this year for whatever reason. "

.277/.324/.316

~Juan Pierre

I'm aware of that.

My version also has alt text. Hence the ?

Heh! Never heard of this cartoon before, glad you mentioned the alt text.

"Sorry I hit you in the helmet Hank, I meant to hit you in the neck." Stan Williams to Hank Aaron.

Say hi to my buddy Ryan

He’ll be the only other guy on the bandwagon.

I'm on the Sharks bandwagon.

Because if no one in San Jose cares at least I will.

I almost did last year

But decided against it because what in the fuck is a Bluejacket

Huh

Well, too late now, I’m a Flamer

by Nick S on Sep 15, 2008 3:04 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yes but thats wrong
The name “Blue Jackets” was chosen to celebrate “patriotism, pride, and the rich Civil War history in the state of Ohio and city of Columbus.”57 When President Abraham Lincoln requested that Ohio raise ten regiments at the outbreak of the Civil War, the state responded by raising a total of 23 volunteer infantry regiments for three months of service. Ohio also produced a number of great Civil War figures, including William Tecumseh Sherman, Ulysses S. Grant, Philip Sheridan, and George Custer. Columbus itself was host to large military bases, Camp Chase and Camp Thomas, which saw hundreds of thousands of Union soldiers and thousands of Confederate prisoners during the Civil War.

Go Kings GO

I totally have not been paying attention and only recently found out Cammalleri is on the Flames now.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

GO FLAMES GO

I also have not been paying attention and only recently found out Bertuzzi is on the Flames now. >:(

I second this one.

At least we can agree here…and I will not say anything about soccer until tomorrow.

I'll shut up lest you ban me like you banned butthol.

I can't wait till January when the Sens are 25 points back

And Jeff, Graham and Nick are all laughing at us for being a bunch of suckers.

In retrospect

A team’s historical fulitilty should not have a postive in my search for a team.

by Robert on Sep 15, 2008 2:31 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ah, like the old, dark days

Where Kenny Mayne would recap another 5-0 Sens loss on ESPN2 and finish the 30 second segment with, “The Flames are now 4 points back of the 6th spot in the playoffs. And Ottawa… is… the capitol of Canada.”
