9/10: Open Game Thread
Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners, Sep 10, 2008 1:40 PM PDT
Pravda:
The game plan is to use any combination of Jimenez, Randy Messenger, Mark Lowe, Sean Green, Jake Woods, Jared Wells and R.A. Dickey.
Welcome to Spring Training. I can't wait for the regular season to start. I hear we're supposed to be good.

I think you have a typo here, Jeff
for some stupid reason it says that Cesar Jimenez is our starting pitcher.
UGH
You know he's going to own the Rangers and go 6 2/3.

I just remembered
I went to Cesar Jimenez’s first start, as did Deanna. Willie hit a walkoff single.
That would make too much sense
or hell, why not Jared Wells

Baker reported in his blog (Ichiro Grants a Wish) that Riggleman
wants to use his relievers that haven’t been used for a while and is worried Dickey would last too long.
Be open minded about what you don't know.
I love this so much.
Like he couldn’t just take out Dickey whenever he wanted to. “I’m worried that he might not suck enough to live up to the expectations of everyone who wears the Mariners uniform.”
Raul in left, Wlad in center, Reed at DH.
Fuck you Mariners. Seriously, just…
Fuck.
You.
Save it for next year
when Ken Griffey Jr. starts 125 games in CF for the M’s (in between injuries).
It's best at this point to view 2008 as a wacky sitcom
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
I think it's one of those wacky sitcom's 'message' episodes
Kids, don’t do long term contracts to BOR starters. Seriously. Even if your friends tell you it’s ‘cool’ or ‘stabilizes the rotation,’ JUST SAY NO.
In that case

It's tough to blame you.
This is about to be the first full inning of Mariner baseball that I’ve watched in weeks. And it’s just because I have nothing else to do before work.

I really hope I wasn't one of those.
Every roster spot matters.
by JI on Sep 10, 2008 2:17 PM PDT up reply actions
`
also, why this is bad:
once again, the team has learned nothing at all.
This signing tells us that they still have no idea about getting undervalued talent at dirt cheap prices. In fact, given that we’ve gone from Roberto Petagine to Ben Broussard to Miguel Cairo suggests the team is regressing even further towards plans an intricate as caveman stick figure paintings
Huh. Wrong again.
Why not play Tug?... or pretty much anyone else?
Seems like a subject that should be addressed.

I was bored, so I wanted to let you know which Mariners pages on BR were still up for sponsorship:
Tug Hulett – $20
Luis Valbuena – $130 (because it’s brand new)
Matt Tuiasosopo – $160 (see above)
Rob Johnson – The best $5 you’ve ever spent
Mike Morse – $10
Jeremy Reed – $10
Carlos Silva – $25
Roy Corcoran – $10
Cesar Jimenez – $5
Jake Woods - $5
Randy Messenger – $5
Justin Thomas – $120
Jared Wells – $5

Furthermore, if (read: when) Felix gets out-pitched by Jon Garland on Monday, I’m writing a rant.
Though it's a day game.
So you should have plenty of time to be pissed off at Felix and then experience awesome.
