More pitchers on Offense.
against Vegas reliever Casey Hoorelbeke, whose ancestors clearly couldn't spell Hurlbeck properly.
If only we had traded for Griffey

I want him to play CF as much as possible.

Because if he's capable of playing CF it's a really huge deal.

Oh, and Beluga Tits gets to hit. Awesome.

You know what's funny about Felix's grand slam?
It came on a first pitch predictable fastball.
We lived without a DH for a while now
we can live without one for a little while longer

So I got slammed at work and missed the past few innings.
Can someone explain why we don’t have a real DH anymore? All the bench bats used?
Edgar retired a while ago bud.

Eight run inning coming up?
I’d almost rather pitch Burke.

Seriously.
Am I the only Mariners fan left? At least its not more of the “play to lose” for draft picks.
Matthew spends ridiculously large amounts of his life providing content for a Mariners blog
And yet you are the only Mariners fan left in the world?
by Graham MacAree on Aug 9, 2008 11:25 PM PDT up reply actions
Except in baseball the worst record actually gets you the first pick.
You can tank in the NBA, finish last, and you still are unlikely to get the No. 1 pick.
I am a fan of a Boston/New York free October.

Seconded
I don’t think the M’s performance this series will decide that, though. This series more like choosing between two delicious flavors of ice cream.

In fact, the hilariouser the better.

So if Batista goes to bat, will LL survive him getting HBP or a HR?
against Vegas reliever Casey Hoorelbeke, whose ancestors clearly couldn't spell Hurlbeck properly.
Hey, Miguel. Adrian is still pissed off.
and remember … "Adrian Beltre is a nice guy, but when Adrian gets mad? Oooooh, you don’t want to be around."
Especially on a Mariners blog ;)
I know you’re referring to the audio.
Not trying to be annoying.
I’m just not a fan of playing to lose, and that has become a common attitude lately.
And some people believe that to be a better strategy in order to win in the coming years.
Those people are still Mariners fans.
One player won't change anything.
Hiring an intelligent GM that doesn’t piss money away on useless pieces is a much more productive way to build for the future.
You know what, I'd like to see a fan boycott!
I’ve been wanting this for about 3 years. Just pick a game, non NY or BoSox, obviously, and ban that fucking thing. Originally to get rid of Bavasi, but now to get rid of Chuck A. and that other guy. Lee?
Once we realized he couldn't get the win it just made sense to root for the Rays
in the grand scheme of things, there was more satisfaction to be gained from a loss than from a win.

I remember betting my buddy on the playground that the A's would stomp the Reds.
Lost a couple lunches.
I have mixed feelings.
I of course am totally excited about the Rays possibly going to the postseason, but I seriously dread listening to all the bullshit if they lose.
“Don’t have experience in the postseason” and other mindless quotes from the “analysts”.
Even that would be worth all the pandering to Yankees or Red Sox fans if they're denied a postseason
We all clearly hate the Mariners.
Can’t put anything past you.

I don't think I've ever seen a guy go down on strikes and have to run it out
as much as LaHair has in his short MLB career.
I t hink he's 1/3 with actually making it to first safely.
But if the catcher can’t stop it..you shouldn’t fucking swing

Well, that was a crappy ending.
If completely predictable once Batista came in.
Can’t wait to see him close tomorrow. Hope Dickey’s got a CG in him.

Haha
The White Sox on Saturday optioned third baseman Josh Fields to Class AAA Charlotte and traded minor league outfielder Paulo Orlando to the Kansas City Royals for veteran lefthander Horacio Ramirez.
That Paulo Orlando, he’s no Rafael Soriano.

Also:
Silva leads the AL in losses
Batista is tied for second
Washburn is fifth.
Conclusion:
Signing a bunch of mediocre and expensive FA starting pitchers that pitch to contact, and then putting a crappy defense behind them gets you fired as a general manager.

Heh, fitting...
I just found out that I have an indirect connection directly to Batista (through one of my wife’s friends). Fitting that he got the loss…

NOT YOU, YOU LOUD SOB!!
I was thinking of other people/person. Not to be named, and it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things anyway.
And please don't be offended by my use of SOB.
I only speak like this to people I think can take it/respect/know and like. There’s probably other people in that list, but I’m struggling tonight.
I didn't take it that way, which is why I responded with the sob thing.
Then remembered sarcasm doesn’t read well, hence the apology/explanation above. It’s just how I talk, my redneck roots showing. If I think people are being a prick I generally don’t respond at all.
Faux has earned the right to use that joke.
You? Not so much.

Ha! Only a matter of time until the Nazi's show up!

well
it should be a time-saver, now, what with turning off the tv as soon as the game ends, and having no reason to listen to the radio post-game shows
Radio is sucking without Drayer.
And Huettler (sic) seems to be holding down the fort by himself suddenly. Yeesh.
Hutyler. Thanks, doesn't look anything like it sounds, but then it sounds Dutch. Or something.
Can’t wait to hear the radio back on KIRO, I thought it was much better there.

I’ll personally conduct the interview.
The just tallied up some of latest records on the post game.
So what’s the temperature of LL regulars on Ichiro’s Japanese records being included with his American numbers?
So was I the only one who was rooting for the M's in the end besides batura?
And the only one who turned it off during the 6th?
I was rooting for the M's to win it, just under very specific circumstances.
