This being a weekday matinee means that I won't be able to watch, which makes me 2-2 in missing Washburn starts since the deadline. And that's good, because while he may still be a Seattle Mariner, if I don't see him, he doesn't exist.

Awesome!

I'm back to liking midgets too much.

bahahahaha

Reed: DH
Wlad: CF
Raul: LF

This is going to be hilarious. Way to help out Jarrod stupids.

by Matthew on Aug 6, 2008 1:00 PM PDT   0 recs

Wlad in CF

This should be highly entertaining, one way or the other.

by OlSalty on Aug 6, 2008 1:05 PM PDT   0 recs

6 run 9th

Not as impressive as 10, but they were forced to stop.

I'm more like I am now than I've ever been.

Imperial-metric conversion screwup

when he heard “3 feet from the camera” thought it meant “three meters”

He looks like a Star Trek character.

Agreed

That still doesn’t explain the argoyle background though.

At least he hit a homer

unlike Longoria who must have used up all his home run power yesterday when he hit it too far

Bastard.

Somehow we won with Ben Zobrist playing CF.

by R.J. Anderson on Aug 6, 2008 1:27 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

We'll win with WLAD! playing CF

but we’re going to win in a different kind of way…

same as usual

by ralphie81 on Aug 6, 2008 1:19 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Same as it's always been

For some god damned stupid reason this team stubbornly refuses to move Raul to DH even if it means holding back prospect development for a guy who will not be here next year (most likely) and can’t play defense.

by OlSalty on Aug 6, 2008 1:24 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I know.

If it can’t be Felix, at least we can see Dickey.

Finally, some recognition.

by NOLAmarinergirl on Aug 6, 2008 1:43 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

What's his deal?

In his last eight starts, he’s gone: 5, 5, 5, 6, 7, 5, 4.2, and 4.1 innings. I know that’s always kind of been his M.O., but it seemed earlier this year as if he he had gotten over that hump. You notice anything?

by Teej on Aug 6, 2008 1:50 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

He's throwing less sliders this year and even more of his fastball.

For whatever reason he’s suddenly became a flyball pitcher too.

by R.J. Anderson on Aug 6, 2008 1:52 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I think the injury has thrown him way off

He just hasn’t been able to get the right grip for his slider consistently. He had one game where he threw it extremely well (against Oakland), but that’s pretty much it. He’s not throwing it because he’s not confident in his ability to get it down ATM.

Or in game form:

Sonny v. Felix
Shields v.Silva
Garza v.Batista
Jackson v. Dickey

by R.J. Anderson on Aug 6, 2008 1:47 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Knowing Garza

He’ll throw a CG shutout against you. He’s crazy inconsistent.

The one glaring matchup in the M’s favor is Sonny versus Felix. You guys should win that one, but ya never know. The Rays nearly lost a Kazmir/Sowers matchup today.

Felix and Dickey will own us

Knuckleballers are the Rays’ bain. And Felix is just awesome.

A four game split would be ideal.

Wow, we really bend over for Raul

Wlad is the CF.. and Reed the DH..

How silly, just so Raul can play LF
