Tired of Howard Lincoln? Please help!

Hey all,

My dad is going to br publishing the very FIRST article in Japan on Howard Lincoln’s role with the M’s (through a very popular Japanese magazine). People in Japan don’t KNOW about Lincoln and his influence on the Ms. If popular opinion turns on him, it could end being a critical in deciding his fate as CEO of the Mariners in the future.

I need EVERYTHING you guys can get on Howard Lincoln. ANY material that shows how Lincoln is responsible for the Ms demise.

Please, it would be GREATLY appreciated. We need all the info we can get before September 2nd. I promise to post the article once it comes out (it'll be in Japanese).

Good work, Taro my friend.

I’ll bet Naka or Ice would be happy to translate, and you or I can post it over here.

I don't feel anything anymore.

Your dad really should speak with Dave, Derek, and Jeff to get their thoughts.

I can’t think of anyone better to sum up how US fans feel about Howard Lincoln than them.

Read "Out of Left Field"

Page 51, specifically:

Arakawa, who attended his first Mariners game the previous summer, quickly relayed the news [about Yamauchi’s agreement to buy the Mariners] to his senior vice president, a baseball fan and longtime Seattle resident. Howard Lincoln was aghast.

“Are you out of your fucking mind?” Lincoln said. “Do you realize what this means?”

Surprised, Arakawa stepped back. “What?”

“Do you know what it is to own a baseball team? To own the Mariners? It’s going to be great for awhile, and Mr. Yamauchi will be perceived as a savior. But mark my words, the day will come when we’ll be attacked by the media, and you’re going to have people calling you and complaining about the Mariners’ performance…”

Heckuva prophet, eh?

There are several other examples in that book…

Heck, search the P-I’s site for Art Thiel’s writings about Howard Lincoln.

Lincoln is a douche.

I don't feel anything anymore.

And this, my friends...

…is the very same Howard Lincoln who is currently chief in charge of the Seattle Mariners.

Who’s the worse chief — Lincoln or Silva…

Mr. Yamauchi may love the game

but the man he’s put in charge of the team sure doesn’t.

I need to read that book again.

Considering the dearth of Mariners literature in print, Thiel put out a great book. Pretty much the definitive work, by default, on the M’s history.

Won't matter.

Nobody here cares about the M’s. I say Mariners and they have a confused look, I say Ichiro and they get happy. They care about the player, not the team.

But I want to say

I hope I’m wrong, and that you and your father are able to help turn the tide against Lincoln. Good luck.

If you spin it right, it could resonate with a number of people.

“Lincoln responsible for sticking Ichiro with a lousy, noncompetetive ballclub.”

It's possible.

Just unlikely. There’s nothing to lose, so go for it I say.

Ichiro sentenced to Seppuku

Because of Howard Lincoln…
