You know it's bad when we can't even get a "Happy Felix Day"

because nobody is paying enough attention to the M’s to notice.

by Jed MC on Aug 29, 2008 3:08 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hmm

Felix on MLB.tv

or Army and Temple on ESPN 360.

Army is running the option this year aren’t they? Sold!

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

I almost don't even care that Felix is starting.

I just want to leave work.

I'm back to liking midgets too much.

Its like watching a Mariners game with True Blue LA.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

Once you're mathematically eliminated

you shouldn’t have to play anymore.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

I wouldn't mind a rain out.

That way I wouldn’t have to balance between a Felix start and a Seahawks game. Although normally they shouldn’t overlap.

Lulz

the Seahawks have no healthy QBs, should be interesting!

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

I'm sure that's what they'll do.

But I think Seneca is healthy enough to go if needed as well.

Are we in Oakland today?

I thought we were back in Seattle.

Yeah, we're at home tonight

Yay for driving home tonight after work. I leave at 9, so hopefully I don’t get trapped anywhere because fuck traffic

No kidding

I saw one of the forecast models (EURO) and it plots Gustav to roll right over the NOLA area, and then Hannah (next storm in system) will supposedly roll through there in a couple more days. Oh yeah, and more powerful even. That shit sucks HARD

I suspect that if there was a regular season game today, Matt would be playing.

From everything I’ve read, it sounds like he’s healthy enough to take the field. Of course, this is a meaningless game. Why bother?

Speaking of meaningless games and needless injury risk, Bruce Bochy is an idiot.

by BrianL on Aug 29, 2008 4:59 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Exactly

I want Hass nowhere near the field until the games count. Preseason is bullshit in the NFL anymore, and I don’t even like the thought of any of our other starters playing tonight, after just a couple days rest

I'd have them line up, then call timeout

Then, the whole first and second teams will head to the locker room and go home

It bugs me when people get into lengthy Seahawks discussions in the GT

If you don’t care about this particular game, and are watching the Seahawks… why are you here?

Sign me up, too

After the strike, my Avalanche became a shell of their former selves. As such, I’ve needed a new team. Go Sens!

I was on board with the Avalanche way back in the mid 90's or so

But it is very hard to follow Hockey here in Seattle, and after the strike I lost touch with the NHL. When they got back to business, the whole team was different. I’m glad to be able to latch to a team that sounds like it will let me down any time now. My comfort zone as a sports fan in Seattle

I see you got the music to work this time.

Too bad sunshine and lollipops are the furthest thing away from this game.

Army's triple option

not looking too sharp. They just fumbled and Temple recovered it for a TD.

Hot damn.

Bought a DVD recorder with RF in, plugged it into my HDMI switch to display on my monitor.

The framerates…oh I missed them.

Holy fucking shit.

This is what a game is supposed to look like on TV!?

My old TV capture card really is a piece of shit.

by BrianL on Aug 29, 2008 5:05 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I see online people who say

“Next Gen games look fine on Standard Def.” but once I went Hi Def I have a hard time going back. Hell I’m stuck with an old TV at work and the difference in how our game looks in HD is tangible.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

by bluemax on Aug 29, 2008 5:06 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I don't even have that great of an HDTV

I see pictures people take of games I have on their sets and feel I’m missing out.

Probably mostly due to me not having my 360 running on HDMI, only the PS3 gets that treatment for now.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

Rain Delay?

Good God im starting to forget the Mariners even exist.

Hope all is well with you guys, girls, and/or Jeff.

I haven't been paying attention to this offseason

have the Kings done anything besides hire a new coach? I know their was a god awful rumor about trading Kopitar but that was the last thing I heard.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

by bluemax on Aug 29, 2008 5:04 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Terry Murray

The new coach.

Kopitar is still there. I had no idea there were Kings fans, no offense.

by Slica on Aug 29, 2008 5:08 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Its cool

I lived down the street from Staples for 5 years and got FSN so it was easy to pick them up as a team (I got the Ducks games but rooting for them made no sense).

The Kings have some young talent, if they can hold on to it and develop a Goalie I think they’ll be good in a few years.

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.

Jeff

Since the game is on, ill shut up about hockey now…

But Ottawa sent Andrej Meszaros to the Lightning for Felip Kuba and Alexandre Picard and the 1st rounder we got from the Sharks.

You know more about him than I do…good trade for…whom?

So according to the announcers

that was either a changeup with a ton of movement, or a really crappy slider.

Could be worse...

We could have Adam Jones instead. : |

by Slica on Aug 29, 2008 5:32 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I had arguments with another Mariner fan

About whether Wlad was better than Jones. This is within the two months following the trade.

I won that argument over him like a breaking ball over Wlad’s bat.

I gues the bright side is that Adam Jones would demand a trade within the next year or so anyways. We already kept him on the bench instead of playing him for a chunk of time last year, and im sure we would do the same again here.

Thats how you know when the Mariners aregoing to trade a good player. They wait until he struggles, bench him, and then sell at lowest possible value. Its called ‘sucking at front office ABCs’.

Arena football is ridiculous

I went to the final LA Avengers home game this season, it was like some crazy future sport out of a bad sci fi movie. And the announcer reminded me of Idiocracy.

“LETS LET THE QB KNOW THAT HIS LAST PASS WAS IN COM PLETE!!!”

If it wasn't for college football I'd probably have given up on sports.
