LL on Yahoo! Sports

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/The-Nail-in-the-Coffin-Your-2008-Seattle-Marine;_ylt=AlXcSNB6l85tE7ruCtieAxQRvLYF?urn=mlb,104148

So according to this article the M's are the 1st team officially eliminated from the playoffs!, which means we'll get to here the front office talk about how we were in it until the end of August.

This article also contains a quote from LL.  It's probably not a big deal, but I thought it was pretty cool to see LL getting some attention by the national media.

For some reason being the 1st team eliminated makes everything worth it.

I like how if any kid clicks on that link and the LL article pops up the headline says:

“In The Land Of The Binoculate, The One-Eyed Man Looks Like A Fucking Moron”

I fucking hate you Mariners

My little dictionary widget on my dashboard couldn't even define binoculate

But intuitively I figured it meant being able to see with two eyes. Heck, even my spellcheck thing has a red underline under it.

Sweet to see LL getting some pub

but my God, I don’t know why I subjected myself to reading those comments. It made me all sad inside.

Like this one?
Either way win, lose or draw I am an M fan to the end.

I’m always an M’s fan when they draw

Oh wow
the ballpark here in seattle doesn’t help much either on making a wining team bad configuration of the park!
it should be sealed like the metrodome of mineapolis so the home team can put some run when they play home !

If I was to play baseball, I would be the victor!

What the hell does this mean?
like to know why when a pitcher is doing good they remove him from the mound why not leave him in regardless of straigy till he shows signs of no control mabe the managers pass up a good feature

and they leave a guy in untill he digs so far behind he cant get out of the hole first sign of faulter get him out not wait til we lose the game and he loses confidance by keep screwing up

Which one of you ghost-wrote this gem?
who is to blame for the m’s horrible season? john mclaren is the answer i am giving. he single handedly ruined one of the greatest closers in the game, jj putz. blow a few games like he did and it is contagious, the whole moral of the team goes way way down. how did john mclaren do it, you might ask. he insisted on using putz in non-save situations. jj had no idea what his role was on the team, and his abilities suffered because of his confusion. closers have a different mind-set than any other player on the team, iitially when jj pitched bad, it was in a non-save situation. he is a closer for crying out loud, use him as such and the m’s finish much much better. as joe biden said about the us predicency, “the office is not a place for on the job training”, the same can be said for an mlb manager. next year is another year, lets root for the home team m’s to be the first world champion baseball team during the john mccain presidency.

I mean, this can only be a joke, as obviously, no one actually thinks this is true…

I was terrified to post this comment because of the zomg politics at the end

but yes, that was hilarious.

My theory on the bad 2008 season – John McLaren in his efforts to be “one of the guys” kept punching JJ Putz in the ribs, thus causing JJ’s rib muscles to detach from the bone and making him throw slower so that when McLaren used him in non-save situations, JJ couldn’t throw as hard and sucked.

I understand where what you mean,

but I figured the political thing at the end was just a throw-in, and so long as no one follows up, hopefully it’s cool—especially since the point is to show the rest of the post (in retrospect, I could’ve just crossed out the last part).

Also, that’s an interesting theory. It seems to be something needs looking into. John McLaren may well be the most evil of managers to rip-slap a closer in many a year.

What politics?

He’s talking about the “predicency”.

I'm more like I am now than I've ever been.

I love this one:

like how alot of people blame ichiro for the m’s disaster (amongst others but he still gets alot of crap) why dont we blame the m’s management for not securing a better bullpen, even when we have the lead we cant hold on to it. we also need to ditch silva, washburn, green, beltre, bring up bloomquist who seems to do rather well when he’s up in the big leagues (no i dont have stats im just pulling that off of the games i watch, plus he has speed). the m’s do rather well with squeeze bunts and hit n runs we should be building a fast offensive team this power hitting crap hasnt really worked since the days of Jr and Arod

In Summary:

Ichiro is as infallable as the Pope
Our bullpen sucks
Willie should start every game
Ms are great at bunting and hit and run
Beltre sucks

Uh yeah

Doesn't that guy realize that Willie is injured?

Wait, of course not. That would require actually paying attention. And not being on acid while typing a comment.

But I love how even that poster agrees that we should get rid of Silva and Washburn. Ahh common ground…

by Karma Police on Aug 28, 2008 4:31 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

he starts out ok

defending Ichiro is good, but it’s downhill from there.

I guess it thinks Willie is in AAA.

Green/Beltre suck, which is odd because they’ve probably been a couple of rare bright spots.

Power hitting is crap
