Got bad news? Don't shoot the Messenger ('cos he's just been called up to Seattle)
According to John Hickey of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer (a local paper to the city of Seattle, in the state of Washington, in the western half of the United States of America), in his most recent blog post, Mariners relief pitcher Mark Lowe has been optioned to AAA Tacoma -- a minor-league baseball team called the "Rainiers" because of their proximity to one volcanic mountain, and probably taking their name from another former AAA baseball team, the Seattle Rainiers (who were, I believe, called that because the one owner of the team probably had something do do with Rainier beer, which isn't very good and never really was -- Oly was far, far better) -- to be replaced on the 25-man major league roster by one "Randy Messenger," formerly of the San Francisco Giants of the National League.
So, to summarize:
Lowe down,
Messenger up...

Hmm
Looks like he needs time to heal but they didn’t want to DL him, so this.
Messenger is AAAA quality but it’s not like this team needs a relief ace at this point. He’ll do.

Speaking of Tacoma..
I was at the Great New York State Fair today, and one of the carneys claimed to be a former Tacoma Rainier, until he blew out his knee. I didn’t get a name unfortunately but if it’s true, what a downward spiral.

Sheesh, no kidding!
But, hey, George doesn’t listen to me (or, well, anyone else for that matter), so I’m not sure how much good it’d do :-)
This signature space for rent.

He punched Scott Olsen back in Florida...
Hopefully he does the same with Silva.
