It's Strasburg Time. Who's up?
SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't seen the game and are planning to watch it later, I imagine this will have some spoilers in it.
______________
Mr. Steven Strasburg will take the mound in a few minutes to take on the Cubans. I can't seem to find it on TV, but NBC is streaming it -- with no commentary.
I've never seen the kid pitch, so I'm pumped as hell and ready to indulge in the Strasburg hype, which I have thus far avoided. Work be damned. Plus my girl just bought me some Pike Kilt Lifter online for my birthday (can't find it down here in Strasburgland), so I'm ready for some baseball.
Go Steven! Go USA! LOSE MARINERS!

Ground ball, ground ball, strikeout.
And he touched 157!

Harsh.
Well it’s just me here so far. So I’ll probably be doing a running commentary, I guess.
Come morning, this will probably look pretty funny with just me talking to myself. But I swear I heard talk of LLers being around for the game tonight. Or today, in your case.

Stupid infielders. He should be out of this inning.
Ground balls galore so far.

Also, I must say, Silverlight has been a beauty for the Olympics.
I wonder if MLB is doing it wrong.

Yeah, I've read a lot of praise for Silverlight in general

I'm not seeing the choppiness that I see on MLB.tv.

Although it has pretty much lit my computer on fire tonight.
I’ve crashed twice. And not just Firefox, but the whole computer just turning off. I might have other problems, but this computer’s only a year old. And scalding to the touch.

I suck at metric conversion.
It appears he’s throwing hard, but they’re hitting him. He gave up a homer and it’s now 3-2. But we’ve got a man on second with two outs . . .

Oh and I totally missed your joke because I'm so pissed at my computer.
But yes, I will blame it on Strasburg.

Jesus Christ.
It just crashed my OTHER laptop that I was using as a backup.
I take back whatever good things I said about Silverlight until I figure out what the hell is going on.

Weak
Single, a triple and a throwing error. 2-0 Cuba after 3.

Strasburg out after four innings.
This thread was a massive failure.

Damn
I was hoping to see a complete game with 15K’s and no walks
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

He struck out a few and, I believe, didn't walk any.
But yeah, this sucks.

I hate NBC.
At least on my cable system, there are eight channels showing Olympics coverage right now — all in HD. (It’s usually nine, but the main NBC channel is showing the morning news right now.)
Again, eight channels showing the Olympics as I type this. Here’s what’s on each one:
1. Basketball: Spain vs. Lithuania
2. Basketball: Spain vs. Lithuania
3. Basketball: Spain vs. Lithuania
4. Basketball: Spain vs. Lithuania
5. Soccer: Brazil vs. Belgium
6. Soccer: Brazil vs. Belgium
7. Soccer: Brazil vs. Belgium
8/ Soccer: Brazil vs. Belgium
And I have to watch baseball on my computer.

It should have been so easy for the US to beat Cuba
They should have sent a caterer over to their clubhouse before the game with carts full of delicious sandwiches. That would cut their fielders’ range in half immediately.
