I didn't watch the game so I'm not too bitter that I wasted a little piece of my life (again..)
but why do you bring Batista in when you need a strike out. I’ll concede that a walk doesn’t really hurt you too badly but what quality does he possess that makes him a good fit for this situation. All I can think of is that he’s old and has an arm. Most baseball fans also possess these traits. Just retire and end the pain. Preferable a forced retirement just so that somebody says “Fuck you. You suck. Get your ass off my team.”
Stone just posted on Baker's blog that Silva ---> DL
Also, this little gem from Riggleman:
"It’s something that I think if we were in a different part of the season, or the standings, he would pitch through it,’’ Riggleman said.
Yes.. if we were higher up the standings, Silva would just pitch through the pain! What a trooper!

Yeah, but it also solves the dilemma of getting him on the 25 man
Without having to figure out who to punt.
Im sure im not the only one...
Who has noticed everytime our pitchers go through a major stretch of suck, they play the injury excuse.
I seriously dont trust any injury to our pitchers anymore unless it comes from Felix. Bedard gets a pass because he doesnt suck for long stretches.
I was hoping for both.
Has that ever happened before?
"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
Oh good, I'm glad I didn't miss anything interesting.
Finally, some recognition.

Not a good start for Morrow
double, 4 pitch walk, strikeout, 2 run double….
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
Yikes, against the River Cats in Sacramento, no less
They don’t necessarily suck, but this is one of the PCL’s deader parks and the River Cats aren’t known for being especially explosive.
He's fininished for the day
his final line (not bad after the rough start)
3.2ip 3h 2r 2bb 5k 61 pitches 39 strikes… 3 ground outs 3 fly outs
Still throws way too many pitches…

Riggleman Thinks Raul Ibañez Is Really Good At Defense
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/mariners/2008118501_webmari16.html
Raul Ibanez was Seattle’s DH to save his lower body from the artificial turf, not because of defense. “He played a heck of a game in left field yesterday,” interim manager Jim Riggleman said before the game. "He’s played a good left field all year. He really has.

What's he supposed to say?
“We know he’s terrible and we just don’t care”?
Though it is such an obvious move that I am starting to think they may leave him there just to spite the blogs. Especially because he’s told people that he would like to DH in the past.

How about just "we moved him to DH because it's a turf game"?
There’s really no need to bullshitrave about his defense. Does Riggleman need to tell everyone how awesome Ichiro is on defense when he plays at DH?

Is Riggleman asked about Ichiro's defense
when he’s at DH. What you don’t know is the context of his answer in regards to the question he was asked.

So it's bullshit, like the "Vidro has such great at-bats" stuff.
I guess it’s all about the Mariner organizational dedication to insulting fan intelligence by bullshitting them, if it’s not Riggleman being so fucking stupid Raul throwing lawn darts is “good left field all year”.

I am glad that Silva didn't say anything about playing through pain in his most recent diatribe.
Someone play me in Madden 09. XBOX live gamertag: BANE509
It's gotta be more of a shoulder/neck issue.
Ducking from line-drives…arching his neck up to see the ball get crushed. Only 3+ years..I can’t believe we’ve replaced Washburn and that contract with him. We are one of the most fucked organizations ever, only behind Nambla.
I fucking hate you Mariners
