DFR's 21st

I was looking up Dennis Freakin’ Raben’s stats and noticed that he turns 21 today. I’ll bet he doesn’t hit so good tomorrow.

Is that right?

Does Matt Harrison really only have 2K’s in 19+ innings???

Neat.

Jim Edmonds is making me happy today.

So 16.5 straight hours of data entry for me.

I am so fricking tired I can’t even bring myself to load up mlb.tv. 1.5 more hours before I can get some blessed sleep.

Yeah.

Tracking shipping and recieving for an oil rig. Today is my last day of the hitch. I had been working midnight to noon, but I am working 18 hours today instead of getting up at midnight to work like 4.5 hours before I get on the plane.

Chip Caray is a goddanmed fool

there shouldn’t be a minimum payroll.

Investing money in player development or signing draft picks is much more worthwhile than signing middling free agents.

I fucking hate you Joel.

by JI on Jul 31, 2008 5:29 PM PDT reply actions

Agreed, for the most part.

But the Marlins’ spending less than what they get just from revenue-sharing is irritating.

Vazguez...

Is there a better fielder in the majors?

by Schuxu on Jul 31, 2008 5:32 PM PDT reply actions

Ok Ok

You are prop. both right.
Although Vazquez this series > Kata last time

by Schuxu on Jul 31, 2008 5:37 PM PDT up reply actions

Nonsense.

We have a goal and is has nothing to do with winning games

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

by wadswerth on Jul 31, 2008 5:36 PM PDT up reply actions

Obviously the Mariners care about winning!

Otherwise why would they keep greats like Ibanez and Washburn and trade propsects like Rhodes?

"Hole in one, eh?"

by Coach Owens on Jul 31, 2008 5:40 PM PDT up reply actions

Oh fucking balls

I just realized that Griffey to the White Soc means that, when the ChiSox come to town in a few weeks, that Junior will indeed make another triumphant, overblown return to Safeco Field.

Maybe we can call up Ryan Feierabend in time for the series so he can get booed out of the building again for doing his job.

by Gomez on Jul 31, 2008 5:47 PM PDT reply actions

I checked that as soon as I heard about the trade

White Sox’s do not play at SafeCo again this year.

He's not being cruel to you, and he never has been.

He’s being snippy, and you’re going to have to get used to people being snippy to you unless you want to be miserable your whole life. You don’t have to like it, but you can’t let it bug you as much as it does.

What's a good heckle for a player that wears stirrups?

There’s an asshole on an independent league player that hit on my GF over and over despite her yelling at him. I’ve been heckling him ever since, and he started wearing stirrups.

I’ve done “The 1800s called and they want their stirrups back.” and variations of horse jokes (which works on two levels because he looks like a horse). They’re really affecting him, as he hasn’t gotten a hit on any games I’ve gone to, but otherwise hits 300. I just need some new lines to keep it up for the rest of the season.

by Faux on Jul 31, 2008 7:00 PM PDT up reply actions

by Schuxu on Jul 31, 2008 7:03 PM PDT up reply actions

Small white catcher != large black pitcher.

It wouldn’t really work, especially in the NY area. No one knows that DW wears stirrups. They barely know anything outside of the names of their favorite Yankees.

by Faux on Jul 31, 2008 7:03 PM PDT up reply actions

that would help things... Silva getting a relief start.

It would show the Nationals that we want to be dead last! Those bastards.

I only got two bottles, so I'm hesitant to drink the last one.

You’re right—I feel so classy and refined having it in my fridge.

My favorite part is the label that looks like it was created on my home printer. No bar code, no fine print, no nothing.

But seriously, where would they be looking to spend?

Beckett/Matsuzaka/Lester/Buchholz/Masterson would be fine, but I guess they’ll probably throw some money at one of the starters.
