Why Baseball Mogul 2009 is preferable to reality

I wonder how far would the Mariners get if they moved the decimal point one place to the left and claimed clerical error on Silva's original contract? If Nintendo's lawyers pummelled Universal Studios over a copyright claim, shouldn't they be able to turn a contract of 48 million dollars into 4.8 million? Apples and space oranges I know, but one can hope.

Note: I realize the important information in the first image is repeated in the second image, but I didn't want to cover up the absurdity of Washburn and Batista's contracts with red markings.

This makes Carlos a valuable trade chip in this game.

I love BM09 but something is clearly wrong with the trading algorithm and it is starting to take away from this years version.

Yeah, now that I've been told how to game the system, it's not fun anymore.

The only reason I started playing BBM instead of the Show is because I was hoping for more realism in roster construction, which is the thing I enjoy most.

As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball.

I can vouch for this.

Though, you’ll probably get annoyed by what they call “player development,” which is, by no means, actually development, but rather random “hits” and “boosts” that either increase or decrease the ceiling of a particular player. Can toggle that off, though. Or, at least limit the frequency of it.

Agree

I love being able to control AAA, AA and A ball rosters, 40 and 25 man rosters, and the ability to adjust ticket prices, promotions, payroll etc.

+1

The feeder leagues and extensive minor leagues can let you create any real or fictional league that you could desire. It is something you can spend endless hours playing and still come up with a fresh league. O8 and 09 also have an MLB quickstart which is awesome, though they underate some of the Mariners prospects in my opinion….

You guys need to go to sportsmgul.com

and download HoustonGM’s rosters. It fixes a lot of the roster problems with the original release.
