The Clumsy Giant Is A Gentleman And A Hero
Yankees first baseman/DH Richie Sexson, who was a teammate of Washburn's in Seattle until earlier this month, thinks he would work out wonderfully in pinstripes. Said Sexson: "He'd be a great fit, especially in this city. I mean, he's a winner. He can take the ball anytime. He's a big-time competitor."
...
"In the three years I played with him, we never scored any runs for him," Sexson said. "He should have a lot more wins."
You're doing God's work, Richie. Don't be deterred by the skeptics. You know what your team needs, and what your team needs is a big fuzzy helping of Jarrod Washburn: The Winner That Doesn't Win.

I think my favorite thing about this is the camera work.
When Richie collides with the pitcher, the camera rumbles with them making it seem like the entire stadium shook.
HAHAHA -- you're totally right!
That should be nominated for an emmy :-)

OH THE HUMANITY!
"Mr Jordan, aren't you the one who taught me to live every week like it's shark week and that nothing is impossible except dinosaurs?"
I love that...
Richie seems to think he has some credibility on the issue. He’s obviously the textbook example of talent.
Not everyone can be tall
don’t sell Richie short! (pun not intended)

I love that he thinks he knows what it takes to play in New York even though he hasn't been there two weeks
In New York, Sexson said, you need a fierce competitor, and Washburn fits that description.
As opposed to places like Milwaukee and Florida, where you need someone more carefree and acquiescent.

That's probably what he thought about Seattle too

until we started booing him at home

Next to Philadelphia
I can’t imagine winding up in a worse city if you’re particularly sensitive to crowd disapproval.

NYC is worse.
It doesn’t really make sense, but the best fans in Philly are the baseball ones.
In contrast, I was at the first Sexson game @ Yankee stadium, and they started booing as his name was called for the first time.
Richie Sexson = Gives 110% to trying

Yeah, whatever happened to scoring those runs, Richie? It wasn’t entirely your fault, but you a major contributor to the problem.
Technically it was only his fault last year and this year.
He was still alright back in 2006.
JI/Robert '08!
J/M - gut feel/inside info/whatever - Jarrod Washburn will be a member of the Seattle Mariners on Friday morning
Y/N
If (Y) – the return will be something greater than salary relief

I'll assume you mean If (N).
Will he be a member? No.
Will we get anything? No.
not based on inside info.
Yeah, meant (N) and to add (Y/N) on the other side

I thought this Washburn deal was done
If they’re haggling over players in return, then the deal is not done. I see no news from the media that a deal is made, and various accounts agree that the holdup is the M’s not agreeing with the Yankees’ offered return. A deal is done when both sides have agreed on terms. Sounds like someone’s source jumped the gun.
I don't want Sexson back

I like how JAC mentions that we may be trying to sweeten the deal.
RRS, Sean Green and Saunders have even been discussed. Comment #40
I know ‘discussed’ is just that, but why the hell would we even get to that point that other names come up. Good God.
I fucking hate you Mariners

Anyone have a screenshot of Richie's cell phone?
A report in the New York Daily News said former Mariners first baseman Richie Sexson has been texting messages back and forth in recent days with Washburn

That's absolutely adorable.
Now if he does it while drunk, that’s even better.

Wow I love it when news companies go crazy over texting celebrities
Like it’s some big deal.
Seriously, youre only embarassing yourself. Everyone thinks youre a jackass. Texting means nothing, this isnt the 90s or something.

That Paul guy is a sham.
Rumor has it all of his photos were actually taken by Geoff Baker on his cell phone.
As funny as the dugout has become.
