MarinerCentral.com...

I'm seriously not pandering for hits - I don't even own the site anymore.  I'm just wondering what your collective thoughts on it are.   Have you visited it?  Do you love or hate it?  I know a few members of my old site have been banned from this site - I find our sites MUCH different.  Some dick named "Gomez" has put up some great shit on our site.  A few other names I recognize here have done the same.  I love coming over here and speaking my abstract mind without reprehension, but what do y'all (my wife is from South Carolina, I can say that, MFers) think about the site I house after SportSpot.net ended?

Again, not an advertisement for a site I no longer own, just a question of thoughts...

I really don't care for using BBS anymore.

I think it is a dying form of community with the emergence of blogs, but honestly never heard of the site before.

Type "beefy dudes talkin' baseball" into Google,

then go wash yourself. That’s a prerequisite.

*Not beefy or dude-y at all.

By the way, there's a GREAT site we often get confused with,

called Marinerscentral.com. Relish the douchebaggery.

I'm trying to find a nice way to say this

Basically, the users at the site seem to be the type that favor the analysis of DOV over LL or USSM.

MarinerCentral also uses “cPoints”, which are a lot like “spoints”, which IMO were the bane of Sportspot.

Yep.

I got banned from Sportspot by MarinerGeek because I wouldn’t quit calling Mike Hargrove an idiot.

That about sums it up right there.

Really??

I mean, I don’t remember Geeks stance on him – I know he place more blame on Bavasi, but sheesh!

Yeah. And when I emailed him and asked him about it, he said something like "You're too high maintenance" or whatever.

But then I left there and went to Inside the Park and then eventually here. So maybe it was a good thing.

Besides, places like that are….almost too civil for my tastes.

I think there's a decent mix.

Some favor DOV, some think otherwise. We just try to keep it civil. Most of the time it works…

I don't think I'd seen it

Pros:
Always like to chat w/J from Mariner Minors
Org allows you to keep on topic

Cons:
Just don’t like the look/feel of it
It’s like a blog without an author – it’s all comments. This place would actually still get a decent number of hits without main posts, but it’s just a weird thing – I like that Jeff or Matthew throws something out there that we can discuss. I like this because I am lazy, and because I know who those people are and why I should give a shit about what they’re presenting. I think basically I’m too old now to figure out who in a new group of people I should engage with, and who I should ignore.
