This guy is either a comic genius or a raving lunatic
I was scouring the web for rumors about Washburn finally leaving us, and what did I stumble upon? This:
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/forum/boards/viewtopic.asp?topicID=123273
"I want you to imagine Bloomy and clones of him Starting EVERY position but Pitching and Catcher with a legitimate bench and the same Pitching Staff"
Wow. I'm trying really hard to imagine just how awful a team comprised of 8 Bloomquists and a catcher would look offensively, and I just can't do it. He goes on to say such awesome things as:
"Take 8 of him at the plate and I believe he will gain us more steals over all, more walks overall, less SO's overall, can bunt better over all, certainly do pretty darn good in the field, and be a GAMER EVERY GAME.
I believe this a legitimate point. I just cannot name a player in our history or now that can be put in the same position to warrent MORE wins than the current squad."
and:
"The reason Bloomy has a better arm in CF is because he has MORE athletic abilities out there than Ichiro."
I don't know, you just have to read it. I'm going to just assume that this guy is one of us, and that he's fucking hillarious because the alternative is just too disturbing to live with.
When you do read it, be sure that you read the comments because he goes on and on in there.

Okay that was funny
Will he find a job next year upon possibly leaving? YES, and I pray it’s with the Chicago Cubs or Oakland and make no mistake, he’ll be hired to haunt us and GOD BLESS AMERICA and the Bloomys of this world.
That has to be a joke.
I don't know why you would think that.

More hilarity from around the newspaper blogs:
A comment on Baker’s wrap-up, which is headed by a close-in photo of an Alexis RIos statuette:

That is a figurine not Rios. What kind of garbage is this.
Sadly, Baker has added
(image may not be an exact likeness)since the post went up.

The Nine Willie lineup
3.908 runs per game
4.516 runs per game and I even let one of the batters be his minor league stats (.337/.375) and one be his ridiculous ‘02 sample size (.526/.576)
The Jose Lopez Watch - 124H - 14 BB - 58 G Left
Noteworthy - this year's Willie is apparently one of the teams best hitters

I wonder how a 9 Ichiro lineup would look.
5.611 Runs a game based on career averages.
6.503 based on his best year.

It would look like 9 guys hurting the team by not diving
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
2008 Seattle Mariners
104 Games
407 Runs Scored
3.913 runs per game
Over 104 Games, the Nine Willie lineup would score 406.4 runs. For that extra 0.6 runs, this team is spending countless millions.
