On the heels of Ichiro's mishap last night, losing to Purcey would be kind of new and exciting.

To further elaborate
if you look at the splits of every starter in baseball, in any given year there will only be a handful of LHBs each year that hit exceptionally well against LHP, your much better off going righty on lefty.

Via Rosenthal:
The Yankees have acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and left-hander Damaso Marte from the Pirates. The Pirates received a package of four minor-league players — Class AAA right-handers Ross Ohlendorf, Jeff Karstens, and Daniel McCutchen, and Class AA outfielder Jose Tabata.
This is a change from the original package thought to be headed to Pittsburgh. Karstens and McCutchen were late replacements in the deal for Class AA left-hander Phil Coke and righty George Kontos, according to two sources familiar with the talks.

They said it was scored as one
They might change it to Burkes later on, I don’t know, but it was also not an easy ball to handle.

You think a "numbers guy" would realize that when you're 7.5 back
you are jolly well fucked.
Shit, it’s hard enough to make up three games.

If Ibanez and Washburn go away
this season will have almost been worth it.
