After 48 starts in the big leagues, Matsuzaka's got a career tRA of 4.57 and an xFIP of 4.64. Solid investment, guys. Totally worth the frenzy.

Where does nabbing Dickey in the Rule 5 Draft rank on the list of best Mariner moves of the year? Of the last five years? I can't believe the same team that paid so very much for four of its starters was able to find a competent back-end solution for a Fahey fistful of pennies. If I didn't know better, I'd call it genius.

Is it one horse names that or two?

Also, that’s fucking awesome. Those were the names of the goats that pulled Thor’s chariot.

I knew you were sarcastic

Just saying that I would do it every atbat, not just when runners are on

by Last Fan Of Jose Lopez on Jul 22, 2008 6:35 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Bad idea.

Bill James did a simulation where he had Babe Ruth hitting normally in a terrible lineup, and Babe Ruth getting walked in ALL his PAs. The second lineup scored more runs, because the 1.000 OBP (and NO outs) tends to help you score runs.

This is sarcasm BTW

I still don't understand the Durham trade

What’s the point in the Brewers acquiring him if they’re not going to use him

Worst case they’re equal, better case Weeks bounces back a little.

Oh hey it's not

Weeks is supposed to be one of their big franchise players, I don't think you should give up on a guy like that

unless his replacement represents a clear and obvious upgrade.

Mike Cameron recorded 485 putouts in 2003.

by JI on Jul 22, 2008 7:13 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Al Chambers was supposed to be one of our

“big franchise players”. Look how that turned out.

Yes he should

(but he should because fuck the Brewers)

See below.

His LD% was way down from his average and his FB% was way above average. Not to mention his nearly unsustainable .238 BABIP.

"Hole in one, eh?"

by Coach Owens on Jul 22, 2008 7:12 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Richie could still hit bombs.

He sucks.

"Hole in one, eh?"

by Coach Owens on Jul 22, 2008 7:02 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Because his FB% is down and his LD% is way up.

That was horrible luck he had last season and he’s bouncing back.
