LL Softball; 7/20. This time it counts.

barring any 11th hour changes to my move to NYC on the 25th, this will be my final LL softball game…

I can all but guarantee Chad will want to play as well and there’s a chance our friend Ben may come too.

I already made plans with my girlfriend. Sorry guys. I’m out.

so we won’t feel dumb hitting the ball around.

I know the M’s got a game and all, but it has often looked like they don’t even notice he’s there sometimes.

I mean, I’m still playing, even if we don’t get into the teens, but I’d like to see those numbers.

Looks like something did happen in the “11th hour” to prevent the relocation!

So I have to work a graveyard shift the night before, but I get off at 7ish in the morning. I plan on going home and taking a nap, and IF I manage to wake up in time, I’ll head down. I live on first hill so it won’t be tough to get there. I might oversleep, it’s known to happen. But I’m going to try.

Also, if I do come I might be able to bring a buddy. Woohoo.

But my gf is running a Triathlon that morning, so I may either be late, dead tired from getting up at 5 am to cheer, or dead from getting up at 5 am to cheer.

My cousin, roomate and another friend also expressed interest in coming, but they’re generally slackass slackers.

You guys can do BP and fungos without me.

6 hours was too much for me. Still, I had a great time playing our makeshift game and kicking the ever loving shit out of that other team!

I mean… I was sure it would be alright, but didn’t realize we’d be able to run a full 5 on 5 game (and thanks to Smeg for advising us of good ground rules to set it up… even if game one was the lowest scoring game in LL Softball history)... but that we’d run into those dudes that allowed us to play a full 10 on 10 game. And from what they’ve said, they like to come out each weekend, so chances are good we may run into them again and be able to get another full game going. This day exceeded my expectations by far.

I know Two R’s and Two L’s will be out of town one weekend, but I’d like to see another one put together. Hopefully we can get one on a weekend when the M’s are out of town and other people’s schedules are free, and we can get an even bigger turnout at the next softball game. At the least, it now looks like as few as 8-10 people can get an actual game going, which is great because I know low attendance deterred some people from going because they didn’t think we could get a game going.

Or basketball, or lacrosse or whatever, all fine with me. Though for lacrosse, I wouldn’t not want Smeg hitting me with a metal pole… He damages my hand enough with just a baseball.
