Since I didn't watch the whole 5th inning,

maybe someone can fill me in. Was Felix being squeezed or was he legitimately punished for catching too much of the plate?

Like a slider to a lefty instead of a changeup

I don’t know if Ichiro could’ve caught it with a good route…he looked kind of turned around on the DeJesus hit but it was stroked pretty hard so whatever.

It doesn't seem like pulling him does much...

I mean, its not like he hurt his arm, and he’s still been throwing on the side. I guess being cautious isn’t terrible, but it doesn’t seem really necessary… I’m probably being too reckless.

5 baserunners in 5 innings, 3 of them score. That’s just fucking retarded bad luck for Felix…arghhh

It wasn't that bad.

And his average this year is 94.9 or something. That’s really not bad.

Anyway, knowing Felix, I doubt he would have come out if he wanted to go back in. He was probably done

I doubt he wanted to come out, but Riggleman told him he had to.

They're fucking idiots.

But as for Geoff.. God I don’t know. He’s smarter than this, I know he is.

by BrianL on Jul 11, 2008 7:08 PM PDT up reply actions

This is why it makes me so sad.

I think a lot of it is he reads every comment on his blog. He needs to just root out the good ones and ignore the rest. Ones that say his blog is better than USSM for instance, are bad comments.

He needs to be less of a wussy about attacks on the internet and be offended less easily. They’re not trying to tell him he’s a bad person, just that there’s better ways to analyze things than the way he does it. People who spend lots of time working on baseball analysis, for instance.

Geoff’s a good guy, and generally a smart guy, but he’s stubborn and gets his feelings hurt too easily

Good God, if we hated him we wouldn't be so critical.

I know I hold him to a high standard because I’ve seen the level of stuff he can write.

by BrianL on Jul 11, 2008 7:14 PM PDT up reply actions

Exactly but then he does stupid shit like say we think he's writing shit for fear of losing clubhouse access

Which was not implied anywhere.

Yesterday's Pants

by BrettJMiller on Jul 11, 2008 7:15 PM PDT up reply actions

If Geoff had bothered reading that USSM article, he would have known that's not at all what Dave meant.

Geoff is such a gifted writer, if he could just set his emotions aside for a bit he’d be awesome.

by BrianL on Jul 11, 2008 7:18 PM PDT up reply actions

Too true. But I know if we presented any of this to him he'd get offended and try to defend himself.

Sometimes saying “Hey, I was wrong. My bad, no hard feelings” is a really good thing to say. I do it all the time because I say a lot of stupid shit. If Geoff could just own up to his errors in judgment no one would be that mad at him.

Not surprised at all.

by Teej on Jul 11, 2008 7:42 PM PDT up reply actions

I hate comicbook movies...

But this one is being referred to as a ‘masterpiece’ and im not talking just from the superhero genre. Its already being called the best superhero movie of all time.

First time in a long time I have been interested in a superhero movie.

Its supposedly dark and atmospheric, which is always a plus for me. I do my homework on movies because im poor, and im not wasting money on a crap movie.

by Slica on Jul 11, 2008 8:00 PM PDT up reply actions

Watch Batman Begins first, if you haven't seen it.

I have a feeling the Dark Knight will make a lot less sense without having seen it.

by Aaron Campeau on Jul 11, 2008 8:01 PM PDT up reply actions

I watched part of it.

But it was half over by the time I tuned in.

I gave the first Hellboy a chance last night…it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that special. Forgettable, really. But I still might check out the 2nd one someday.

I still haven’t found a movie that tops Oldboy in this millenium for me.
