6/30 Minor League Wrap-Up
40 minutes to get this done for you folks so GOGOGOGOGOOOO
ONTOTHEWRAPUP

VENEZUELA~! VSL Mariners 3, VSL Rays 1
VSLMs: 23-16... VSL Rays: 18-20
(League: 259/344/356... 3.67 ERA)
Nolan Diaz: Complete Game! 5 H, (1 R) 0 ER, walk, 4 K, wild pitch, balk, hit batter (10 app, 2 GS, 1.75 ERA, 36 IP, 2/29 BB/K)
Roberto Velasquez: 1-3, 2 R, RBI, walk (325/445/400)
Michael Acevedo: 1-3, RBI, walk (252/333/359)
Mario Yepez: 2-4, RBI (343/404/479)
Reginald Lampe: 2-3, R, walk
Yidid Batista: 2-4 (267/317/304)
Nolanito issued only his 2nd walk of the season in going the distance. This kid's clearly throwing strikes like Strike-O-Matic and probably warrants a trip to the mainland next year if he keeps this up as a starter.
Dominican: DSL Mariners 4, DSL Phillies 3, 16 freaking innings
DSLMs: 18-6... DSL Phils: 8-15
(League: 234/339/321... 3.77 ERA)
Ambioris Hidalgo: 5.2 IP, 2 H, (2 R) 1 ER (HR), walk, 8 K (4 GS +3, 3.38 ERA, 21.1 IP, 4 HR, 9/19 BB/K)
Enrique Rosario: 1.1 IP, 2 walks, K, hit batter
Fello Yan: two outs, 1 H
Felix Bautista: 7.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER (HR), 9 K, wild pitch (8 app, 1.74 ERA, 31 IP, 2 HR, 8/37 BB/K)
Jose Perdomo: 1 IP, K (5 GS +1, 3.52 ERA, 23 IP, 1 HR, 3/16 BB/K)
Ameilis Carvajal: 2-3, triple, R, RBI, 3 walks, SB (250/433/396)
Axel Wel: 0-6, cheap RBI, 4 K: The Golden Sombrero (200/296/222)
Mario Flores: pinch RBI double (340/477/460)
This extra inning marathon was all Felix Bautista's fault, since he gave up the game tying HR in the 9th, so it's sort of appropriate that he was left out there to throw to death, keeping the rest of the bullpen rested while both sides waited for the other to crack. Right after Jose Perdomo spelled him in the top 16th, Rudy van Heydoorn drew a two out walk, and Ameilis Carvajal blasted a triple into right to cash him in and win this ballgame.
Fun fact: thanks to this game, Felix Bautista is now the team leader in innings pitched, with 31, despite 7 of his 8 appearances coming in relief.
Rk-AZL: Angels 17, Mariners 4
(League: 269/353/393... 4.95 ERA)
Ariel Alcantara: 3 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 5 walks, 5 K, wild pitch, hit batter
Nick Love: 2 IP, 8 H, 9 ER, 2 walks, 2 wild pitches, hit batter
Jeroen de Haas: 2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 wild pitches
Kyle Brown: 2 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, walk, K, hit batter
Gabriel Noriega: 2-5, R, K
Cesar Fuentes: 2-5
Jharmidy De Jesus: 2-4, double, R, RBI, K
Jonathan Arias: 2-4, R, RBI
Robert Rodriguez: 1-4, double
The Angels put the AZLMs behind 7-0 in the 4th, and though the AZLMs clawed for 3 runs in the 4th and 5th... the Angels annihilated Nick Love in the 6th to put the game out of reach.
Rk+: Bristol 6, Pulaski 4
PUL: 6-7... BRI: 9-3
(League: 261/338/392... 4.41 ERA)
Brooks Mohr: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 walks, 4 K, hit batter
Nick Czyz: 3.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 K
Brandon Pullen: 1 IP, 1 H, (2 R) 0 ER, walk, K
Juan Fuentes: 3-4, RBI
Kris Sanchez: 1-3, solo HR, 2 R, walk, K
Blake Trinkler: 2-4, 2 K
Jermaine Brock: 1-3, double, 2 RBI
The PMs took an early 3-0 lead, but the B-Sox rallied to tie the game in the 5th with huge help from Jordan Kendall's 2 run double. Brooks Mohr was chased in that frame and Nick Czyz finished without further damage.
Brandon Short's triple in the 8th set up anotehr run to make it 4-3 B-Sox, and they piled on for two more against Brandon Pullen. Kris Sanchez led off the bottom 9th with a solo shot, but it was all the PMs would manage, as it appears the bats fell asleep down the stretch.
A-: Vancouver 3, Everett 2, 10 innings
EVE: 5-9... VAN: 5-9
(League: 246/332/344... 3.74 ERA)
Bobby LaFromboise: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, walk, wild pitch
Aaron Brown: 3 IP, 3 H, walk, 2 K
Javier Martinez: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, walk, 2 K
Kevin Reynolds: 2-5, double, R
Manny Pimentel: 1-4, double, walk
Fleming "Flaming Bees" Baez: 1-5, RBI, 2 K
Vancouver scored first, and they scored last.
A: Burlington Bees 2, Wisconsin 1, 11 innings
WIS: 3-9... BUR: 8-4
(League: 250/322/369... 3.62 ERA)
The untriumphant return of Keith Renaud: 7 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 4 walks, 6 K
Ryan Moorer: 1 IP, 2 H (25 app, 4.34 ERA, 29 IP, 1 HR, 12/20 BB/K)
Keith Meyer: two outs, (intentional) walk, wild pitch (23 app, 3.30 ERA, 30 IP, 4 HR, 16/31 BB/K)
Jose Escalona: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 walks, 2 K, wild pitch (17 app, 5.31 ERA, 20.1 IP, 3 HR, 13/25 BB/K)
Joe Kantakevich: one out, 1 H
Ronald Garth: 1-4, double, RBI, walk (264/321/407)
Joe Dunigan: 2-4, 2 K (183/253/307)
rest of T-Rats lineup: 3-30, 7 K
Wisconsin scored first. The Bees, sadly, scored last.
A+: Lancaster 12, High Desert 9
Mavs: 5-6... Jethawks: 5-6
(League: 269/340/403... 4.50 ERA)
Travis Mortimore (!): 3.1 IP, 11 H, (7 R) 4 ER (HR), walk, K, wild pitch, balk
Michael Wagner: 1.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 2 K (30 app, 4.78 ERA, 37.2 IP, 9/31 BB/K)
Bryan Harris: 1.1 IP, 4 H, (4 R) 3 ER (HR), walk, 2 K (19 app, 5.96 ERA, 22.2 IP, 4 HR, 5/15 BB/K)
Austin Bibens-Dirkx: two outs, 2 K, wild pitch (27 app, 7.18 ERA, 36.1 IP, 8 HR, 12/25 BB/K)
Steven Richard: 2 IP, 2 H, K (8 app, 5.52 ERA, 14.2 IP, 9/14 BB/K)
Daniel Carroll: 1-5, R, RBI, 2 K (167/237/204)
Carlos Triunfel: 2-4, double, R, RBI, walk (235/289/312)
Carlos Peguero: 1-5, double, R, RBI, K (293/312/461)
Chris Minaker: 1-5, double (286/322/444)
Jamie McOwen: 2-5, 2 triples, 2 R, RBI, K (266/323/373)
Travis Scott: 3-5, 2 doubles, 2 R, 2 RBI (269/331/444)
Leury Bonilla: 2-4, R, 2 RBI, K (301/379/413)
I wouldn't have started Travis Mortimore, though they could well have been short on long arms, so may as well be him if so.
This was actually a back and forth game, but again, we've gotta GOGOGOGOGOOO
AA: Chattanooga 4, West Tenn 3
WTN: 4-9... CNG: 6-7
(League: 262/341/395... 4.19 ERA)
Travis Chick: 7 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 walks, 5 K (21 app, 5 GS, 4.72 ERA, 61 IP, 4 HR, 28/47 BB/K)
Nick Hill: two outs, K
Roman Martinez: one out (23 app, 27.2 IP, 4.88 ERA, 1 HR, 15/23 BB/K)
Brent Johnson: 1-4, double, R, walk (311/389/446)
Johan Limonta: 2-4, RBI, walk, K (307/400/485)
Mike Wilson: 2-4, solo HR, 2 RBI, walk, 2 K, SB (272/361/564)
Jon Nelson: 1-5, double, 2 K (289/337/428)
LOOK OUT... the Lookouts got all 4 of their runs early off Travis Chick (and Johan Limonta in LF wasn't a problem: the Lookouts were smacking the ball around), who settled down and gave the DIAMOND JAXX 7 innings... but the JAXX just could push across enough runs despite little rallies in the 8th and 9th.
AAA: Tacoma 4, Colorado Springs 2
TAC: 43-40... CSP: 41-42
(League: 274/345/436... 4.75 ERA)

Jared Baek Bait Wells: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 K (32 app, 5.23 ERA, 32.2 IP, 1 HR, 19/31 BB/K)
Prentice Redman: 2-4, 2 run HR, 2 R (305/371/589)
Matt Tuiasosopo: 1-3, double, walk (253/337/398)
Victor Diaz: 0-1, cheap RBI, 3 walks, K (294/378/500)
Shawn Garrett: 2-4, 2 K (297/333/424)
Oswaldo Navarro: 2-3, double, 2 R (283/360/363)
Phat Andy:
Phat Andy: [taps mike]
Phat Andy: Is this thing on?
Gomez: Sorry, dude, I'm in a hurry. Gotta go.
Phat Andy: Aw hell no.
Gomez: Ah hell yes. Maybe later.
Jared Wells: Thank god.
Phat Andy: BOY WHAT DID I TELL YOU
END.

Mavs last night
Triunfel’s double last night was a 400+ blast off the batters eye in center field…
Bibens-Dirkx did tell me that they’re letting him go back to his old pitching style, but he said he’s having a hard time finding it…but did good last night .FYI he’s the only pitcher on the staff with a better ERA & Opposing BAVG at home than on the road.

I hope they let him go back, the new way obviously wasn't working.

Good to hear about ABD
Throwing sidearm isn’t exactly riding a bike, but if he spent most of his life throwing that way, I’m sure he’ll find it in time.
And nice blast by Triunfel! The boxes did indicate a 17 mph wind out to center, but still, for him to drive it that far indicates he got it good even sans the wind. This is what we’re hoping to see more of.

That's two nice outings in a row for Phat Andy, isn't it?

Three!
If he keeps this up, we’re actually going to have to start taking him seriously!

I forget who posted the Phat Andy 22 custom jersey
but I’d seriously have to get one if he earned a serious callup.

I think Mike Wilson has done enough mashing of AA pitching.
Time to move him up.

Damn Redman is having a awesome year.
He must almost be ready for the bigs.
by houseofprime on Jul 1, 2008 5:09 PM PDT 0 recs
Isn't Redman really old to be in that league?

Yeah he will be 29 in August.

At this point why not?
But he isn’t the “future” either.
