Celtics @ Lakers Game 2 Open Thread
If I was Bill Simmons, the three people I would be most fearful of in this game, in order are Doc Rivers, Sam Cassell, and Kobe Bryant.
Yes, I would be more afraid of my own coach and backup PG than of the best player since MJ.
A few notes
- Defending Kobe Bryant 1 on 1 with Ray Allen is inconceivably stupid. Expecting him to go 9-26 again is even dumber
- Paul Pierce is the truth. Paul Pierce is the mother f-ing truth.
- Kendrick Perkins would be a huge loss for Boston if he doesn't play - they need his size to continue dominating on the boards, by far their biggest advantage over the Lakers
Why you should care if you don't watch basketball
- You shouldn't. If you have the slightest interest in basketball, these two teams are at the absolute height of what you're going to see anytime soon, however, unless they're somehow both better next year. This primarily applies to the Lakers since Boston is pretty old.
- Game 1 was sick

Kobe is the best player alive.
And I think the Celtics size advantages aren’t that great. I mean, yeah KG is the best big man in the series, but the dude is terrible in the 4th quarter (and that monster tip-dunk doesn’t mean he is good in the 4th). And Ray looks finished, he can’t create his own shot anymore. If someone sets him up then yeah, he’s still got the prettiest shot in the NBA. Pierce is awesome but he is a couple levels below Kobe.
I can’t believe Kobe had a game like he did in game 1. There is no way he repeats that. He didn’t take over in the 4th like he should’ve.
Anyway, this is gonna be a great series. I’m psyched.

The thought of Vladimir Radmanovic winning an NBA title makes me ill.

Wasting six fouls of one of your starters on Paul Pierce is definitely a new strategy
I’ve seen it used on Shaq but…

and this surprises you?
Leon Powe sighting. Is Pruitt on the Celtics active roster, lets turn this into a Pac 10 All Star game.
