Only June. You need you ace to strp up today. Taking two of three from the best team in the AL is a start. Have you taken a look at the Chowder’s record at Fenway this season?
Why do you have such optimism for the Mariners?
Is this the first game you’ve seen all season or something?
This is still the same team many picked to win the West
I think there is still plenty of time to mount a comeback. And more than enough talent on this team to make that run.
The people who picked us to win the division are stupid.
No one here expected this team to make the playoffs.

I dunno

To be fair
I expected this team to collapse more so than everyone else. But it was more a gut feeling than anything.
by JI on Jun 8, 2008 12:14 PM PDT up reply actions
Gut wise I was right with you. I expected epic failure.
But probability said otherwise.
I said 83-84 wins
We’re the 05 Astros minus Lance Berkman.

Only June?
Dude, we are approaching halfway through the season. It’s not like this is extended Spring training.
We'd have to play .700 ball for the rest of the season.
by JI on Jun 8, 2008 12:09 PM PDT up reply actions
Assuming the Angels continue at this pace.
No chance, the Halos have too many injuries and too many playing out of position to continue winning (especially scoring two runs a ballgame).
If the Angels don't make the playoffs, Oakland will.
There’s no way we make the playoffs.
And then there's the A's, the Rangers, the Rays, and the Red Sox to deal with.
Plus this team has 5 good players and a bunch of no talent ass clowns. There’s no way this team aviods losing 90 games.

I have a horrible feeling this is what's going to happen.
Finishing near .500 might be the worst thing ever to happen to this club.

The worst part of hit and runs is that it forces hitters to swing at bad pitches.
The other bad parts are the rest of what the hit and run does.

Walks do not win baseball games
More importantly, batters swinging defensiveiy because they are behind in the count do not drive in runs.

*Visiting Angels fan* Never give up, never surrender!
Ms Coaches: You need to learn a changeup
Strasburg: I already have a good offspeed pitch.
Ms: The change is more deceptive and helps you establish the fastball.
Strasburg: I don’t really need to establish my fastball, it’s 99 with movement.
Ms: You should be able to throw nothing but fastballs in the first inning.
Strasburg: That’s retarded. Why would I do that?
Ms: Then they’ll be fooled by your changeup later in the game.
Strasburg: but slider!
He throws a change

Ideally, Washburn, Tits, or Richie
In reality, I see Putz and maybe Beltre being gone this July. Putz will bring a nice AAAer. Beltre? Any team who’s smart enough to want him is also smart enough to rip Bavasi off, so the names of the returns aren’t going to matter.

I’m bias though because I’m a huge Spider-Man dork and the movie finally brought Spider-Man alive for me. Really captured how I pictured the web-swinging and all that.
