Then I understand. Because otherwise, what confuses me is:
-Oakland has an ace.
-Baltimore’s rotation sucks.
-Minnesota’s is pretty poor as well.
-Arizona’s pitching staff is one of the best in the league.
-Ours isn’t bad.
-The Mets never had anyone but Santana.
But it strikes me now that you were probably making a team-wide point rather than a pitching staff-wide point, so I’m unconfused now.
He's definitely making the point of the former.
And it appears Jeff does not view Harden as an “ace”—I’d agree, following the conventional definition.

Because I'm so fast that I've already moved well past this winter in terms of frame of reference, and so these trades appear to me to be from the distant past.
