Bay area M's Fans
I have two tickets to the July 7th game at oakland. My wife and I will not be able to go. These are great seats, MVP Sec. 119, Row 15, Seats 5 and 6.
http://www.seats3d.com/mlb/oakland_athletics//sec_119_2.html?price_plan_selected=&
I bought them thinking they would move Felix back to the number 2 starter after the ASB.
I will sell give them both for 50 bucks Free(that's half the price). . Or you can just help me find a few good bars in Oakland and San Fran. If you are intrested you can email me at neil.beaver@gmail.com

Its funny.
whenever I think of fans of other teams living in Seattle, it makes me annoyed and angry, like “who do they think they are?!”
but when i think about a Mariner fan in a city like Oakland, I think “wow, how courageous, to stick with my team like that. must be a really cool guy.”

oh yeah, i'm definitely badass.
I grew up in the central valley so my first Mariners game was in the Coliseum during the golden era. Cora got on, A-Rod got on, and Griffey homered in my very first live Major League baseball experience. Props to anyone who can guess the year without cheating (it’s not that hard, since it wasn’t too long ago).
Anyway, I’ve got several years of memories of going to games in Oakland, getting booed by drunken A’s fans for wearing my M’s jerseys and hat and being the only kid in my section cheering for the other team.

Hey, me too!
What town did you grow up in?
I remember driving all the way to the Coliseum to cheer the Ms (we’d go to Candlestick as Giants fans) and also being that kid. But considering it was before the days of Mariner glory-actually in the days of Ms glory-I mostly sat back and kept my mouth shut.

cool cool
My folks live in Sanger, just east of Fresno. We made a lot of trips to Candlestick as well since my dad grew up with the Giants. We had the radio on for so many afternoons and evenings that Jon, Kruk and Kuip practically narrated my childhood.

KNBR 68?
Ah the memories…you’re probably too young for the Giant Attitude rap though.

The..Sports..Leader.
Yeah, too young. Sounds like I missed out though.

Haha this is all hilarious.
I was raised in the central valley ( Merced) and now live in Monterey and KNBR raised me sports wise, until I found out that at night if you found the exact right spot a person could get KOMO for the M’s games. Some of the KNBR guys are decent still though.

And then got the hell out of there.

San Andreas, CA about an hour east of Stockton
Though I was an A’s fan until I moved to Seattle in ‘99. My dad played college ball with John Lowenstein so whenever the O’s came to the coliseum we would drive about 3 hrs to catch the game. KNBR 68 was the best. Remember Frank and Mike in the morning? Not sports per se just a funny show

I'd want the ticket normally
but I’ll be backpacking in Yosemite then. Too bad.

Where are you heading?
If you don’t mind me asking, that is. I spent a few days in the northwest corner of the park out of Cherry Lake over Labor Day weekend last month, gorgeous country and we got caught in the late storm that passed through so it ended up being more of an adventure than we had planned for. Decent fishing too.

Great area.
There is an incredible hike from the Wolf Creek or something like that camping area up to tuolome meadows/lake, definitely alot of fun.

Yeah don't bother with Berkeley
The bars in Oakland and SF are better. Be prepared to spend out of every orifice for a pint when in SF though.

True
There are some places that are reasonable and it tends to be a pretty easy city to find good beer in which is a plus.

Yet another reason I want to move there
now if I only had, y’know, a whole lot of money so I could afford to move there.

There are lots of nice overpasses here you can live under

Good luck fighting all the Nam vets for the good overpasses.
At least that’s how it goes in LV.
I spent so much of my company’s money buying food for all the vets I saw there. There were even a couple Iraq vets, something that everyone’ll be seeing a lot more of in the next 10 years.

but you grew up there and don't have to relo
cost of relocation + cost of finding new house in market that’s 35% more expensive than my current one = more money than I have. Especially considering the soft job market right now.

But in consolation, I’ll be house shopping.
