A friend of mine works at a Walgreens

He was behind the photo counter reading Harry Potter, when a customer came up to get some film developed. She said something to him, and he snapped his head up and yelled, “What the hell do you want?”.

He apologized shortly thereafter, but this story still pleased me a great deal to hear.

It's not uncommon that X's are pronounced sounding like an S.

But the Tei is not pronounced Tuh in Teixeira. If it did, his name would be pronounced Tuh-shuh-uh. Although, a deaf person might make this mistake.

However, I am no linguist. Teixeira might pronounce his name the way you think it is, kind of like Bedard (Baydar). But I have never heard anyone pronounce Teixeira “tuh-share-uh.” I would think someone in the media would have got the pronunciation corrected by now.
