6/20: Open Game Thread, Part 2
I just got home to find out that it's the bottom of the fourth of a 0-0 game and Erik Bedard is no longer pitching. I am afraid to find out what happened.

I was late to the game thread
Did we already have a discussion about why the fuck WFB is starting in CF? Versus a right handed pitcher? what the fuck.

Lefties hit 100 points lower against him
that’s the reasoning
by marinator on Jun 20, 2008 5:39 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Oh.
I guess that’s actually decent reasoning. I’d still have to think Reed has more upside (on a game-to-game basis), but at least there’s SOMETHING behind it.

BTW, what would be the perfect reason, given the M's season, for Bedard to have come out?
1.) Serious injury
2.) Piddling injury
3.) “Just didn’t feel like pitching anymore today”
by esoteric on Jun 20, 2008 5:41 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
D. Degenerative injury
That will one day end his pitching career.

No, I don't hate the Nats. They made be made of fail, but they didn't try to softsoap me in the preseason by building expectations
And while their offseason moves haven’t really worked out for them either, they were smart gambles made by an underrated GM working on a strict budget. The Nats suck, but it’s a likable sort of suck.
And our farm system kicks the crap out of the M’s.
