To Brian:

Do you know where one can purchase a reasonably priced Rhodes? I really want one. I love the sound.

Reasonably priced?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Are you already home?

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:22 PM PDT up reply actions

No I'm still at work

I just wanted to see how many people would say bye to me

by Robert on Jun 17, 2008 9:23 PM PDT up reply actions

Not that gay,

just stupid.

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:27 PM PDT up reply actions

I don't listen

But my drummer loves them, idolizes Phil Collins, etc, and I know I do not like them. So this fight hath not started as I hath no dog.

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:30 PM PDT up reply actions

I hate them.

Therefore, they are not on my playlist. Sorry if I phrased that confusingly.

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:31 PM PDT up reply actions

Technically inept?

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:31 PM PDT up reply actions

He's horrible.

His technique is awful, he has no grasp over written notation.

by BrianL on Jun 17, 2008 9:34 PM PDT up reply actions

Even the Collins stuff is awesome up to 1983 or so.

Things get really sketchy after the self-titled album, though.

by esoteric on Jun 17, 2008 9:32 PM PDT up reply actions

Because liking Peter Gabriel is considered in good taste?

Especially for a youngin?

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:36 PM PDT up reply actions

You would be pleasantly surprised by how much I know

My first concert was Elvis Costello.

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:39 PM PDT up reply actions

I won't pretend to be a music guru, but you missed the point of my post.

At age 14, you studied very little of anything to decide what good taste is.

by Wilder. on Jun 17, 2008 9:43 PM PDT up reply actions

I understood your point

I was just trying to win some points :/

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:44 PM PDT up reply actions

For the record,

Everyone giving you a hard time about anything and everything is helping you learn what good taste is. You still hang around here, so at least that shows you are maturing with every discussion.

And one day you will wake up and realize that your nickname works against you and it is a major reason why you are treated the way you are.

by Wilder. on Jun 17, 2008 9:51 PM PDT up reply actions

Well it is quite jading on one's self-image, specially at my age

And I’d rather not be judged for username, but thank you for the words. It does mean something to be told that by someone.

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

The DMB version is kickass

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

They're awful?

Dude, I just defended you taste, and then I saw this. C’mon.

This I may agree with

But he also conveys emotion well, (Louisiana 1917)

Coach/Butthol '09: We shall overcome.

by qrsouther on Jun 17, 2008 9:42 PM PDT up reply actions

FALSE.

I had great taste in music when I was 14. And as annoying as may at times be, he seems to be on the right track.

by Aaron Campeau on Jun 18, 2008 12:41 AM PDT up reply actions

He was never the main songwriter in Genesis

Almost all of their great stuff was either written by Banks/Rutherford/Gabriel/Hackett, or (when they were a trio) written as a group collaboration. The few genuine Collins solo tracks on Genesis albums are mostly shit, with the sole exception of “Please Don’t Ask.”

Is there a site out there

that tracks DIPS stats? Specifically I’m looking for DERA.

Besides that, I am looking to create a list of the best statistical sites…

by Ike Clanton on Jun 17, 2008 9:36 PM PDT up reply actions

ESPN has DERA but you should never go to ESPN

just use Fangraphs or THT or Baseball-Reference or FirstInning or any number of alternatives.

by Jeff Sullivan on Jun 17, 2008 9:38 PM PDT up reply actions

You call this an OT question?

It goes blue at 10 recs?

I want to see what 100 recs looks like. I bet it is a bunch of psychedelic colors that creates some sort of Magic Eye!

He’s done in recent polling, but his performance on the softball diamond may not go over well with the readers of a baseball-oriented website.

With a name like Uggla...

you’d better be good at sports, or something

by pakipaki on Jun 17, 2008 9:45 PM PDT reply actions

So Brandon Morrow's talents are wasted as a closer....

....but damn, he would make a fanfuckingtastic closer. No way he could throw fire like this as a starter, right?

by esoteric on Jun 17, 2008 9:45 PM PDT reply actions

Pitching smart

Good mix. He’s pitching like a starter throwing bullpen sessions.

Fans are typically idiots.

You can all thank me

for turning off the tv when Felix was in a jam, I’m the real hero. Of course if you’re rooting for Strasburg… then I’m the villain…

by LantermanC on Jun 17, 2008 9:47 PM PDT reply actions

I could watch Felix pitch a cg so

then watch Bedard do it the next day, then watch Morrow do it the next day, then watch Strasburg do it the next day, then pray for rain and watch it again for many years to come….

Seriously, this shit isn’t fucking hard to look up. Even Raul looked at her like she was stupid.

Holy crap

I turn on the game about a minute away from home to hear that Morrow is coming in and I think “awesommmmmmme I can catch the last inning.” Come in, turn on the T.V. and am greeted with that old school scoreboard flashing “Win.”

Brandon Morrow is good.

Thanks Bavasi, you didn’t do everything wrong.

Marcus Thames v Zito tomorrow.

Should be fun to watch. Thames’ last 8 hits have been homers including a 450 foot bomb to center tonight.

Just for kicks, using Baseball Musings' lineup analysis:

Our most often lineup (Ichiro, Lopez, Ibanez, Beltre, Vidro, Sexson, RF, C, Betancourt): 3.933 Runs per game (note that the Mets with a free out every 9 outs have an expected 4.4something)
Our optimal lineup (Ichiro Ibanez Sexson Lopez Beltre Vidro C Betancourt RF): 4.017 runs
Our worst (Betancourt VIdro Sexson C RF Ibanez Lopez Ichiro Beltre): 3.77 runs

We don't negotiate with terrorists.
