Lookout Landing Softball Photos, June 15

Here's the Flickr album. I've got about a gig more to upload but I've got captions for all of them. I'll have the rest up tomorrow, my internet is fucking up. Plus it's a gig worth so it's going to take some time. I'll update the thread with new links when that happens. Speaking of links, here's the link to the album I just made...

Seeing that you guys got an actual diamond

makes me a little sad I missed this one. The bumpy fields just don’t cut it. I was close to going on Sunday, but I woke up way late and was being lazy. Serves me right, I guess.

Holy freaking crap these are awesome!

These MUST be sidebar’d.

That is fucking awesome

I’ll give you a dollar or free tickets to a Mariner game (whichever you deem more valuable) to make a card out of this picture however…

These are really, really good man.

I've been doing nothing at my day job for the last week

(and doing nothing is practically in the job description). I’ve had most of these more or less queued up for the last four or five days, waiting for pictures.

I'm a little surprised that this one alone got to 18.

But holy crap, combine them all so far and get 40 recs. That’s far better than I’d get drunkposting.

by Two Rs and Two Ls on Jun 16, 2008 3:35 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I pushed him over the top.

I did it and I’m proud. I want to see free money raining from the sky.

that ‘87 Topps wood paneling was the worst design idea ever.

by johnbai on Jun 16, 2008 12:33 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I might bring some cards to work next time

and try to recreate 1990/91 Donruss or 1993 Upper Deck or 1989 Topps or something.

oh thanks...

had to get me with a weird expression…

btw, i think i see the reason why i’m going the opposite way so much – the head of the bat isn’t coming around fast enough, yeah?

Bretticus

Be more discriminating.

Looking at the pictures of your at-bats, I see you either lunging to swing at something low or going after something over your head. You know you can connect and drive the ball… you just gotta wait for the right pitch sometimes. You’re not going to strike out, so relax and look for your perfect pitch. It’s better to pass up a hittable pitch than to swing at a bad one.

I only offer this advice because I’ve been guilty of the same mistake my whole life.

by johnbai on Jun 16, 2008 12:39 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

This is totally true.

I was driving it pretty well last year and while practicing the other day. But I just couldn’t sit back on anything yesterday. The one I hit well died at the track…

Thanks for the advice man

I want to come to one of these games just to have a card.

I need a new facebook photo, too.

Plus I want to show how I can hit better than Robert.

Correction:

Maybe beer Mike’s Hard Lemonade will be like steroids

The answer is no. Although they will both probably result in ball shrinkage.

If people get to the point where they want real cards

I can print out a set of these. We would need to run them all at the same time to save some $$. Just an idea. It might need it’s own FanPost though.

But I think maybe I’ll take a picture of me with a bat in my hand, just so I can have a card of myself…
