USSM/LL Event Info
If you have signed up for The Gathering as you weirdos over here are calling it, and you did not receive the information email I sent out tonight, cruise on over to the #1 Mariner blog around, ussmariner.com, and put a comment up in the thread that I just put up about the Saturday event. One of the moderators will forward the event info email to you while I travel tomorrow, and that is the best place to get questions answered while I'm out of the loop on my way back to Seattle.
And, really, if you're sitting there thinking about coming but aren't sure if its worth $20, just trust me, it's going to be worth $20. The Q&A guests are great, and it's going to be a chance to get information that fans just aren't given access to on a regular basis. In all the years of hosting these things, I've only had one or two people say they were dissatisfied afterwards, and one of those was a punk who was just there for the all you can eat pizza. You can blame him for the fact that we're not serving pizza.
Anyway, we've got a few spots left thanks to last minute cancellations, so fire off an email to ussmarinerfeed@gmail.com or post in the comments at USSM and someone will send you the event info email.
I'm pretty sure this is 75 words. If it's not, then holy crap is that a stupid rule.

Prediction:
Saturday’s gamethread will suck harder than a comedy festival headlined by Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook.
Do we really want to see what Graham does as the lone power in a bad game thread?
...because I know I do, especially if it gets ugly.

That will be the nerdiest thing ever
I can’t wait to come home and find that there’s been an Open Meetup Thread with over 1000 comments in it.
the other angels fan
Graham doesn't need to moderate.
He just mocks you senselessly until you give up.
I fear the wrath of Graham more than the wrath of Matthew/Jeff combined.
Is this rational?
Abundantly wrong
I’m just more subtle

Wait, I'm confused.
So Coach thinks I’m a 37yr old female bear and you think I’m a 4 yr old ginger kid?
Is that why you dot your i's with little hearts?
by Kirsten Schlewitz on Jun 12, 2008 11:10 AM PDT up reply actions
If he really wanted to be loved he'd make the J lowercase
and dot that with a heart too

What about one with a sunshine and one with a heart?

I think she knows your tricks JI.
I like midgets more than I should.
That's probably the only way you'll get the women's vote.
Right now I’m siding with the anti-gnome platform.

If that member is Jeff, someone need to hand that gnome a basketball
and a two-year guaranteed contract from an NBA team

These gnomes are getting creepier and creepier.

Don't you Gnome?
That’s why I suggest voting JI/Robert.

I think Conor knows a thing or two about gnomes...
He’d HAVE to be on that ballot.

I made a barely (pun intended) amusing remarkabout Jeff and Matthew
trip to the pitch F/X conference being a thinly veiled excuse for a romatic getaway and he just ran with it,
I dunno, Matthew's wrath is pretty scary

Nothing Noah Webster did was the superior anything.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
My hatred for Noah Webster is a white hot hatred.
Orthographic reform always leads to a loss of precision.
I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
It's way funnier that way.

Bah, I really wish I could go but I agreed to sit in on a recording session at the same time.
I knew that was coming.

Oh Derek...
I’d argue that Bavasi’s actually a pretty good trader compared to his peers. His biggest weakness is free agent signings. Thanks for writing, DMZ
How times change.
I miss the days when Bavasi was solid at trades.
The days before Jose Vidro, Horacio Ramirez, Eduardo Perez and Erik Bedard
He now sucks at the draft
and being a cool guy.
Basically there’s no longer any redeeming qualities.
He's still good
at the draft… o yea, nevermind.
Jl/Robert '08: Promise for a CoachCage on Friday nights!
Well I mean he just has multiple weaknesses now.

If anybody from Detectovision was the special guest, I'd have to skip work and go just for the hilarity.
"It didn’t really bother me at all," Johnson said. "If it would have, he’d probably be in a stretcher and I’d be out of the game."

I’ve got my deck.

You're right!
Bavasi is so stupid, $48 million on Silva, $40 million or so on J-Rod, but he can’t spend the $12 bucks to buy a damn starter deck which supplies tons of strikeout mana. Especially after signing Lefty Sexson (Wilkerson), you have to prepare and stock up on that stuff. Who’s using up all the k’ mana anyways, just Felix, Bedard, and Morrow? It certainly isn’t J-Rod or Silva.
http://seattlesportsmaniac.blogspot.com
$12? Why not just go to the card store and buy some strikeout mana individually? It'd cost like three cents each!
Stupid Bavasi… he could have gotten strikeouts for three cents apiece, but instead he paid Richie $108,333 for each one…
by seattlebruin on Jun 12, 2008 12:41 PM PDT up reply actions
Better yet, why not just get some booster packs
Instead of pay for an expensive card off e-bay (silva) and have it turn out to be a bust?
http://seattlesportsmaniac.blogspot.com
Also, where does $108,333 come from>?
Did you divide his salary by his strikeouts or something?
http://seattlesportsmaniac.blogspot.com
Total salary (guesstimated)/strikeouts so far
I’m sure I could come up with a much better number if I went through the contracts page, etc.
OK so it’s $86,278.59 per K so far.
