6/10: Open Game Thread
Seattle Mariners at Toronto Blue Jays, Jun 10, 2008 4:07 PM PDT
Meet Dustin McGowan. Dustin McGowan throws really hard. In fact, according to Fangraphs, he's had the highest average fastball velocity among starting pitchers so far this year at 95.0mph. A year ago he stood at 94.7mph, so this is no fluke. He's got a hell of an arm, and if it's dark out and you squint a little bit you can sort of see bits of King Felix. This will not be an easy game. But then there're never any easy games so go to hell McGowan, you're not special. Smug son of a bitch.

Reading the bottom of that reminded me of something:
remember how a big deal was made of McLaren’s coaching staff being overall one of the most veteran in the game?
Yeah, that sure helped.
Are you trying to make a point here about how veterans are always good for the team under any circumstances?
Because you have me confused.
