Who's next?
Again, I agree with the idea of blowing this team sky high. I like the Pentland move. Although I don't feel it should be the only move.
I'd call the Dodgers and see if they want their 3B back. Although I LOVE Beltre...I think we can get something worthwhile for him. While we have the Dodgers on the phone, we let them know that we have Erik Bedard and if they want him, they can have him.
On TrueBlue LA...there is discussion that since they Dodgers have about $80 million coming off the books in the next two years. They have put together a package to offer Pittsburgh for Snell and Bay. I would think that they might listen to an offer for Beltre and Bedard using similar prospects or players.
They were saying a package of Hu, Loney, Ethier, McDonald and Kuo for Snell and Bay might get it done.
I think a package of Loney, Ethier, Penny and McDonald would get it done in my book.

Duh.
He’s 32-13 the last two years. I think that’s better than any of our pitchers. Also he had like a 3.00 ERA last year.
When’s the last time we had a guy who could go 16-4 (as Penny did last year)?
Go Nova
He's got some issues....
His K/BB rate keeps falling. His FIP is up to 4.27 this year. BABIP is over .300 for 4 of the last 5 years. His LOP% is was between 70%-76%, but its down to 65% this year. Looks like he’s having an unlucky year. But its not like they’d part with him for cheap. And it isn’t like throwing more bad players together makes a deal for a good one look better.
Also, he just turned 30. It’d be the Dodgers selling high. Not good.
I also like how we trade Erik Bedard for him when he's under contract for the same amount of time as Erik Bedard

As a throw-in
I dont think they would give up a fourth prospect. Plus he is better than Wash or Tits
Blow it up! BLOW IT SKY HIGH!
So they'd give up a good pitcher they can use now as a throw-in?
I’m just not seeing it.
Okay
Then dont throw in Penny…still I think the Dodgers might be an ideal trading partner

Hu, Loney, Ethier, McDonald and Kuo for Bedard/Beltre
I’d call that a bargain / the best we’ve ever had.

We're going to be hearing so much of this over the next two months

Blake DeWitt
is putting up an .803 OPS for the Dodgers playing 3rd… and he’s 22 years old, and cheap….
Why would the Dodgers want Beltre back?
