I'm Upset

Did we really lose the Jeff picture recap? I can't find it, and I tried a link to it and got an error. I say we do a good ol' fashioned nuclear bomb and take down the fucker that would dare take our website/life from us. WHO TAKES THE TIME TO HACK THE GOOGLE ACCOUNT OF THE AUTHOR OF A SPORTS BLOG AND ALSO HACK SAID SPORTS BLOG?

On a serious note though, can anyone get that recap? Please let there be someone...

I hope it's still there

that’s the highlight of the season for me, thus far.

That was one of the best recaps ever.

Damn that hacker to hell if we can’t get it back.

Let's please not incite more violence

I take full responsibility for fanning the flames but I would appreciate it if we could just drop it and handle this reasonably.

We’ll try to restore what content we can. But I won’t make any guarantees.

Jeff, I sent you this through email, but the sidebar content can be found here

http://www.davidjcorcoran.com/lookoutlandingglitches/benfranklinleftovers.htm

Not sure if you’d be able to simply copy/paste from that page using WYSIWYG format or what, but hopefully that helps.

Violence, no

But posting the guy’s IP address was completely warranted. Hackers who are dumb enough to get busted deserve to be hacked back.

For legal purposes, it should be noted that this comment is in no way an admission of any retaliatory action taken, nor an endorsement of any that may have or will take place.

We're working on the restoration process right now

I don’t know how much (if anything) we’ll be able to get back, but I’ve got my fingers crossed.

by JeffS on May 4, 2008 8:05 PM PDT up reply actions

And the damn monkey pic

AND the horse bologna joke.

I’m ruined.

You think you're ruined

I haven’t gotten an opportunity to make a Rax joke in 17 years.

Barbarologna

Babar the elephant!

Just make your Rax joke.

Rax?

I love Rax. Great mlkshakes.

I laughed.

I know I argued with you in the previous post about “the other f-word.” No love lost, I hope.

by Teej on May 5, 2008 2:20 AM PDT up reply actions

Wait,

My grasp on the term “no love lost” is lacking. Whatever. I think my point stands.

by Teej on May 5, 2008 2:21 AM PDT up reply actions

You sure?

Some of the wrap-ups were deleted, though some were left. I’m trying to figure out the common thread.

I thankfully have just about all of them saved, save for one or two.

While I believe cracking jokes about 9/11 is about as classy as cracking jokes about the Holocaust or Katrina,

I have a hard time believing that would be enough to drive someone to go to all this trouble.

by thewyrm on May 5, 2008 3:05 AM PDT up reply actions

Well balls.

I only saved four of those recap pictures.

Fans are typically idiots.

by The Typical Idiot Fan on May 4, 2008 8:32 PM PDT reply actions

Wow

I just got home.

Several of my wrap-ups are gone, too.

Someone had a fucking problem.

Maybe the Myspace Method

i.e. get the user to submit his/her login to you through a well-disguised webpage.

by Gomez on May 4, 2008 11:28 PM PDT up reply actions

Maybe the "I forgot to sign out in a public place" method.

Or, better, the “I have a ridiculously easy password” method. Or possibly the “eBay Notification” method. Or the “I told this guy my password because he promised he could help me with something and he was a friend of a friend, but it turns out he’s a colossal douchebag” method.

...and now I'm here

the sign out in a public place method

is a fantastic one, but he’d have to either have a stalker or it was one hell of a coincidence

Jeff

How’s the restoration process going? Any idea how much/what we’ll get back and when it’ll be?

by seattlebruin on May 5, 2008 9:10 AM PDT reply actions

Should be able to recover all missing front page posts

not sure about diaries. Think we’re out of luck re: comments.

by JeffS on May 5, 2008 9:30 AM PDT up reply actions

Oh, and I'm not sure when it'll be finished

probably sometime today, but this is the first time they’ve had to do this sort of thing, so I’m not sure.

by JeffS on May 5, 2008 9:30 AM PDT up reply actions

My first thought was actually AK

but then I remembered that AK is too stupid

by JeffS on May 5, 2008 11:01 AM PDT up reply actions

Maybe he "rented" out his sister,

and used the money to acquire a hacker’s services.

by redwolf75 on May 5, 2008 1:55 PM PDT up reply actions

You say "drooling",

I hear “well lubricated”.

by Faux on May 5, 2008 2:12 PM PDT up reply actions

Is it wrong that I had the same thought?

..and how did the Ak’s sister meme start?

by JI on May 5, 2008 2:21 PM PDT up reply actions

AK got offended by my calling people retards

Said that his sister was mentally disabled and he didn’t feel it was appropriate for me to say that people are retarded.

Of course, giving me ammunition when I don’t like you is a pretty retarded thing to do.

by Graham MacAree on May 5, 2008 2:31 PM PDT up reply actions

It's clearly okay to call his sister a retard, though.

It can’t be offensive if its true.

Apparently, hacking SBN isn’t the only way you can 1-up the fans of your hated rival.

Eh, they'll kill Angels fans if anything

I think we’ve firmly established that they’re both closet Mariners fans…

Somehow I replied to the wrong person.

Though I’m not sure how that happened.

Don't worry.

I wouldn’t sully my car with mariner fan blood.

How times have changed.

Five years ago a Yankee fan wouldn’t blink in a Red Sox fan’s direction. Today, Red Sox fans easily crush a Yankee fan’s ego. This is something New Yorkers have never dealt with emotionally and it was only a matter of time before an incident like this occurred.
