Ok, seriously, what are their real slugging percentages?
Ok, we're trailing these assholes?

Now try to wrap your mind around that lineup putting up 14 runs in one game.

I count 4 guys who get on base at a clip of .350 or better.
There is one explanation.

It's like the '85 Cardinals without speed, defense, or Jack Clark.

I hadn't realized Barton was that bad at 1B.

he's not.
Also, against LHs, CF defense is “excellent” and against RHPs it’s “bad.”

They draw a lot of walks and apparently can't hit for power.

But their pitching is the horse's bologna

Believe it or not, I would find bologna more appealing if it were made from horses.

Unrelated, but frankly I must post this

You guys have been gleefully talking about Cust "regressing" (to what?)
Month-long slump and now for the season: .244/.426/.427. Best OBP in the AL is pretty good, I think….

Well, sure,
that’s why I said “to what”? None of us expected him to be as good as last year. The tone (especially from a certain Cust-hater at another M’s blog) hasn’t seemed like “regress to his (very good) projections.” But anyway, I’m just happy right now; don’t want to pick fights over here…

Regress to a more human BABIP
thereby lowering his production. This has happened.
Normal Cust is still a fine hitter (or should I say, a fine run producer, since he’s not a hitter in the traditional sense). He’s just not a great one. And as long as he’s starting in the outfield, he’s barely helping the team at all.
