So I've been offline for the past seven days...
After moving flats I have been without a net connection, which in this country basically means baseball isolation. I guess I picked a good week for it eh?
I have been able to follow Jeff's writeups on my blackberry every morning [that picture essay for the Beltre game recap was incredible and was just what I needed to perk me up at 7am on a cold morning] however I have been totally out of the loop with all other news.
Has anything been said about getting rid of Bavasi/McLaren or making any trades? Or has this season basically been declared a write-off?
Speedy replies welcome as this internet cafe closes soon!

There's always talk of getting rid of Billy/Squinty
However talks of a season write-off are getting more and more vocal with the casual fans at Baker’s blog.
No.
Extensions all around!!!!!!
...and now I'm here
Good job I haven't been around then.
Season writeoff replies must be down by 50% with my absence.
Beware of the GTE.
hahahahah, wow. I would rec that 1,000 times if I could
the Season over part is classic.

Playing Lost Levels and being an Ms fan
feels strangely familiar…
It's playable with a save feature
...because it is nice to have a challenge.
However, I can’t imagine playing without one, I don’t know how you could give it more than 20 minutes if you had to start from scratch each time you played.
on the other hand, whoever came up backwards warps was probably Nazi sympathizer.

I was drinking water while reading this comment
and had to do a mental brain wipe after reading the last line to keep from spitting up and choking.
Moral: never eat or drink anything while reading comments.
I have no idea why I downloaded this game.
What an unfun piece of shit.
I reject your reality and substitute my own!
Also, I'm always down for some online Grand Theft Auto IV or Rock Band. Gamertag: Phildopip

Well,
We also lost every game since punting Wilkerson and Norton for Clement and Wlad but that’s probably just a coincidence.
Wasn't there a diary about OAK team SLG
I’m guessing it got deleted for some reason?
Nope I saw it on the front page
Somehow I was even able to post on the thread.
Anyhoo it said “Loser Landing”
Then 13-19 last place.
It was also posted as the author being Jeff.
Obviously someone from HH.
Someone just posted using Jeff's name on HH
You are right, it may very well not be a HH reg, but someone just posted a diary there mocking him.
Eh whatever.
The SBN admins will come down on that moron hard.
And in case they don't, I got a screen shot of the thread with his IP before Jeff deleted it.
Don’t worry, I won’t post it here.

And in light of Jeff's post below, I'm deleting it.

Who the hell takes time
to hack a sports blog?
So many better ways to waste time...
Also, goes without saying, but no retaliation please. I don’t want to see Jeff get pissed at us over this.
We've made it Jeff...we've made it
I fucking hate you Mariners
so big time that you're getting hacked
I fucking hate you Mariners
i would imagine this is the first of many still to come.
once people see it can be done, others will look for other openings to hack it…..
I expect they’ll get more frequent and probably more destructive.
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
Again, please no retaliation.
Down Corco, Down.
Who would we retaliate against?
I fucking hate you Mariners
I doubt it's someone that's a normal over there
In any case…I have faith no regular here will do anything stupid….Corco.
I fucking hate you Mariners
Oh please people that log onto the internet have better things to do than hack sports websit...
on second thought, everyone fear for their lives it’s Thunderdome!!
Seriously though, the more popular a website gets, these kinds of things have a greater chance of happening.
Fair warning:
I’ll be deleting any diaries that have to do with taking action against the hacker. I did not respond very well at the time and it isn’t in the community’s best interests to go crazy.
yah, I don't think anything WOULD happen...but I see the potential liability
So what are the steps to get things back in order?
I fucking hate you Mariners
I don't know but it's a work in progress
this could be a little while. Fortunately the tech guys we have are pretty familiar with hacking stuff.
I understand why it was deleted
even though it was fun talking about it.
