If anyone missed it in the last thread
Does anyone know where I could find the league average, and therefore individual statistics on reached-on errors?
anyone know where I could fine
Betlre’s LD% vs. league average?
well, THT tells me what I want to know
his BABIP is .244. that’s telling.

Has anyone seen my baseball?
Well I figured since everyone else is asking for something
Aussie, Aussie, Aussie
Have you seen Mr. Baseball?
Now there’s a quality film.

This Jeremy Reed looks just like the Jeremy Reed circa 2005-06
by Susheel Ramasahayam on May 31, 2008 2:33 PM PDT reply actions
Can't really blame him
He’s sitting a ton, getting at bats here and there. Any feel he had in the minors was probably destroyed by sitting in the bigs.

Possible. Or the AAA competition is vastly inferior compared to the majors
by Susheel Ramasahayam on May 31, 2008 2:36 PM PDT up reply actions
I don't know about 'vastly'
I think AAA isn’t as good, but it’s not as huge a jump as most people think.
by Smegmalicious on May 31, 2008 2:37 PM PDT up reply actions
All three players who were raking in AAA struggling or struggled here albeit in limited PAs

When was the last time Balentin went yard?
by Smegmalicious on May 31, 2008 2:36 PM PDT up reply actions
I think these guys deserve an extended look. Reed got his and proved to be marginal at best.
I want to see what Balentien and Clement can do.

The Rockies lost.
We’ll be one behind in the Strasbourg race, unless Felix turns into Mr. Hyde or our bullpen blows it.
don't say things like that
I don’t want the mariners to lose.
by mr.smartypants on May 31, 2008 2:41 PM PDT up reply actions
So, has this been Good Felix?
Low pitch count, no walks, lots of Ks, but 6-8 GB/FB. I’ll take it no matter what, just curious.

Felix for the complete game?
PC at 87
by Susheel Ramasahayam on May 31, 2008 2:42 PM PDT reply actions
I'd prefer 8 innings from him
Bring in Green for the 9th or something
i guess it depends on how the next inning goes
but I think i’d be more comfortable with 8 innings and ~ 100 pitches than 9 innings and 110-120
by mr.smartypants on May 31, 2008 2:53 PM PDT up reply actions
er
i’m a bit surprised they took him out at 7/87 though

Seems like an early hook
But my gf has a crush on morrow after what he did to the Red Sox, so I’m not complaining.
It's amazing the Morrow has found a mechanic or mental switch or something
and just become brilliant lately.
Shave and a haircut two ti- hey hold on.
Woah....
in all of the chaos in moving into my new abode I didn’t know there was an early game today. Was Felix as sick as his line indicates?
Pretty much
However there were some line drives hit, and he did a lot of establishing the fastball.
by Smegmalicious on May 31, 2008 2:59 PM PDT up reply actions
He was pretty damn serviceable, though not overwhelming.
Tigers were like brain-dead Caribbeans swinging at slop, if you grok my Krueger.
an 86 mph curve or whatever that is seems pretty nuts
backing up a 100 mph fastball
So even though FSN Northwest is no longer a FOX property, FOX can still black them out.
I was hoping for Sims today
Shave and a haircut two ti- hey hold on.
No, all Saturday afternoon games are automatically blacked out nationally, regardless of whether FOX carries them or not.
I do believe it is related to the exclusivity of FOX’s TV contract, however. Has nothing in particular to do with FSN Northwest, however.
frickin' retarded

Fuck you, I just finished my last law school paper and exam

Wow, I am retarded...because I though this was in response to my musings on the proper spelling of "MORRPWNED"
Man, am I out of it. Thanks for the rec though, buddy.
So I left in like the 6th
Felix kept the magic working, Morrow sweeps up the remains afterwards?
l hate it when I smell like grass.
That is my real name. In case you're wondering, it is Indian

I was just wondering if it was for real
Because I love it. If it wasn’t real, I’d feel short changed.
Said how it looks?
That was a long hit. 390 feet
Encouraging

hmmm it's about producing NOW
not what they did 3 or 4 years ago? Intriguing idea, announcer!
Pointed out that the Tigers' lineup had 41 all-star game appearances
But then said it was nice but useless, because they weren’t producing this year.
JJ has lost complete control of his fastball along with velocity.
by Susheel Ramasahayam on May 31, 2008 3:23 PM PDT reply actions
He's hitting 96, that's not bad for him.
by Smegmalicious on May 31, 2008 3:24 PM PDT up reply actions
I thought he'd lost a fair chunk of velocity too
But according to fangraphs his avg FB velocity last year was 94.7mph. This year it is 94.1mph. Taking into account that he’s had a couple of injuries this year he probably hasn’t lost any. The control issue however is something to worry about..
How is that possible?
He throws like 13 pitches a night, and they always seem to be 98, 101, 99, 97, 99, etc.
Bleh, I forgot what time the game was today
Nice to see Felix do great and get a little at the same time.
get a little run support*
Though I do think Felix deserves to get laid regularly also.
I just noticed Kenji stole home...
Was that as hilarious as I imagine it was?
Botched suicide squeeze play
But the ball bounced in front of home plate and hit off Pudge’s chest protector. Kenji slid in safe because Pudge never picked up the ball to tag him.
This is one of those plays that goes as a stolen base of home, but shouldn’t be called that at all.

Hey all I was out at work, what did I-
Jesus Christ Kenji stole home!?
To be fair, he was helped quite a bit by a wild Verlander pitch and a
botched Ivan Rodriguez pick. Even Vidro could’ve scored.
I'm starting to really look forward to seeing Morrow pitch.
With increased FB velocity, increased FB command, and improved secondary stuff, he’s really looking like the real deal.
Dammit
I watched the entire game yesterday (minus the first 2/3 of it, which was the part I’m glad I missed)
And I MISS ALL this game. I really would’ve enjoyed watching Reed’s FB.
http://seattlesportsmaniac.blogspot.com
Wow that was a great play on that liner right at Felix.
Also, Reed’s FB makes me happy.
That was a legit HR(390 ft) which is very encouraging.

Put a good swing on what looked like a fairly decent pitch (haven't lookd at the PitchF/X yet).
I wish he played in left field more often.
