ESPN's Jerry Crasnick recognizes the M's

As being the Most Disappointing Team of the season .  The M's "won" a matchup against the Tigers, Mets, Rockies, Padres, and Indians.  Take that, all you other fans of bad teams!

I, for one, am grateful to have our suffering legitimized by the national sports media.  It's amazing that the pro-M's hype was widespread enough that 9 out of 19 of ESPN's "experts" picked Seattle to win the AL West.  I particularly liked Crasnick's suggestion that the team trade Bedard for a left-handed reliever, a young OF prospect, and some minor leaguers.

“I particularly liked Crasnick’s suggestion that the team trade Bedard for a left-handed reliever, a young OF prospect, and some minor leaguers.”

That’s a fresh joke alright.

The TIgers and Mets are way bigger disappointments than the M's.

At least in the sense of the word being used here.

The Mets also have better young players to build around.

But yeah, they do tend to value the same things as far as trades/free agency are concerned.

Those younger players start and end with Wright and Reyes.

That is not a whole lot. We have Felix, Clement, Wlad, Yuni, and Lopez. Although Wright and Reyes far outweigh our talent (with the exception of Felix), it’s not like their core is much better than ours.

Wright and Reyes are two of the most valuable players in the league.

I have little hope that Wlad and Yuni will ever be very good. If Clement doesn’t stick at Catcher, he’s good but not great. Lopez has me excited, but he’s still a question mark.

I see your point, and I think it’s a fair one, but if I could trade places with the Mets I think I probably would.

Having Santana locked up for the next 7 years and Felix still without a contract,

yeah, I like the position the Mets are in. Especially with Delgado coming off the books at the end of this season.

Teixeira is going to be a bidding war between the two New York teams at this point. So much for that idea, pssh.
