The SP Lager hunt is on!

Our task is clear.

Trader Joe's, Bottleworks, Ballard Market and Whole Foods are out. I am visiting the weirdly located beer superstore in the vicinity of 105th and Aurora tomorrow. This stuff has to be available somewhere, and it's up to us to track it down. Leave no stone unturned. If we cannot find the beer itself, we must try and find key chains, t-shirts, pint glasses, anything. SP Lager is the great white whale of the 2008 Mariners fan.

Seriously, this is the best part of the season so far. It's the best kind of meme.

They have a really strange and eclectic selection, though.

It’s not your standard Sparks+OE+High Life type deal. It’s fairly high class. And Aurora does not really tend to go hand in hand with high class.

Beer discussion on USSM? I thought they were the college classroom and we were the frat house?

Since when can you drink in class(openly that is)?

I had a history prof once

who was a Greek history specialist, and every time someone went to his office for office hours he’d give them ouzo while they talked. More of this would be good.

The only rason it isn't is because most US college students are underage.

It wasn’t uncommon to see a beer in class from time to time when I was in school (Calgary – drinking age 18).

I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.

I agree, I just wanted to make a dig at CompLit.

In fairness, I will balance it out with a compliment to CompLit:

You, at least at my school, tend to have very attractive females in your program. Kudos to you for that CompLit.

In actuality, I don’t think we had a rule against alcohol specifically in any classroom, but most of our rooms had a no drinks besides water policy for cleanliness purposes.

I've ordered 2 six packs of SP lager and 1 of Niugini

on-line. If it’s not a scam, it’ll be here before the season’s over.

I’ll warm up by trying to get one into Cheney. Then, it’s up to the big leagues.
