We almost had 2

So…. many.

You know what's awesome about this?

Nothing.

Someone say something witty.

by Omerta on May 14, 2008 2:27 PM PDT   0 recs

To be fair, though,

nothing is REALLY awesome about this.

Is the strike zone small today?

Or is espn’s gamecast just off?

by GhettoBear04 on May 14, 2008 2:29 PM PDT   0 recs

Gamecast?

Go with Gameday.

Looking through those presentations from the conference

Did they ever mention what clustering algorithms they’re using for pitch identification?

by Graham on May 14, 2008 2:31 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

yes.

MLBAM uses Neural Nets. They also looked at KNN and something else

by Matthew on May 14, 2008 2:33 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

So all supervised learning then?

I like neural nets but I wonder how well unsupervised Kmeans would do on the data.

by Graham on May 14, 2008 2:36 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Fair play

Don’t have to do real-time stuff in genomics so I don’t know what tricks they’d use there.

by Graham on May 14, 2008 2:40 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Serial?

The best I ever saw was like a 3 or a 4. yuck. Business majors are where its at.

I don't believe you

Pics or it didn’t happen.

Every girl at UCLA is attractive.

It’s part of their admissions requirements.

...and now I'm here

by Librocrat on May 14, 2008 2:49 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I think you of all people would love UCLA

43% Asian, 55% girls, 35,000 students. You do the math.

by seattlebruin on May 14, 2008 2:50 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I do.

Though UW is 35%, so not far off. But yes, I would love to go to UCLA for grad school.

...and now I'm here

by Librocrat on May 14, 2008 2:51 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Me either.

They get like 400 applicants for their program, accept only 5, and they are one of the best programs in the country. I don’t think I’m even going to bother applying.

...and now I'm here

by Librocrat on May 14, 2008 2:53 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh well

they let me go for undergrad, so good enough

by seattlebruin on May 14, 2008 2:53 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I wanted to go to UW, so I was happy.

Still.

I will, however, visit often if I can get some extra $$

USC girls >>>> UCLA girls

But all CS girls, no matter the campus, are… well, uh… they have great avatars.

by Wilder. on May 14, 2008 2:50 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

I like girls with brains

so that pretty much eliminates USC

by Matthew on May 14, 2008 2:51 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

You just insulted my girlfriend

you and I are no longer friends.

Only because they got to her first

she is a research biologist though and she loves chemistry.

But she's an Angels fan.

This is like the debate I had with DMZ about whether someone could be smart without being self-critical.

I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.

by Llewdor on May 14, 2008 3:56 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Freaks and geeks with high beard quotient.

And it smelt BAD.

Hence why I stayed at home most days.

by Alex B on May 14, 2008 2:50 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Same here

Plus CS sucks which is why I switched to BA

by Fin on May 14, 2008 2:51 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

CS

I did the same thing, cs really does blow. Econ ftw

by Sorry About Dresden on May 14, 2008 3:13 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

Pft

CS > j00.

Well not really, but I love my job.

The poster formerly known as Matt.

by bluemax on May 14, 2008 3:27 PM PDT to parent up   0 recs

$$

CS is good for the money. Only reason why I didn’t quit it.

Today's game is like a V chord followed by a vi chord.

Just when you think it’s over and about to resolve to a nice conclusive I chord, BAM! that damn vi chord shows up and adds another ten measures.

by BrianL on May 14, 2008 2:30 PM PDT to parent up   1 recs

Rec'd

Because I do that to my friends in the band room all the time… some huge ass progression, and CAD6/4, V, vi…

Suckers… gets ‘em every time

In the name of the Bedard, the Felix, and the Ichiro, amen.
