Joyous Times
Cairo in the lineup again and batting 2nd.
On the plus side they are sticking with Clement even as he struggles at the plate.
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
Miguel Cairo is batting fucking second?
That’s it. I’m not watching today’s game
Determined, Jonesing Commentor
nope
I was thinking the same thing…. and I’d rather have him hitting second then Cairo and I’m not a fan of either one of them.

I'd take Triunfel over both of them
Though setting his development back several years and possibly recking his psychological framework isn’t in the Mariners best interest. Let’s trade him for Griffey!

not for a first baseman
this team needs someone that can hit homeruns…. Truinfel wouldn’t be the answer…. even if you were talking in jest.
if they’re going to go to the minors for someone to come up to develop, I’d rather see them bring up Saunders from AA and put him in Left… and Raul at first.

No disrespect Captain sir...

I was watching the Rays
but they were trailing so I figured I might be bringing them Mariner luck so I stopped.

And then they scored 4 runs
I think you’re onto something here.

I'm telling you
I would quit watching the M’s, but they’ve lost games I haven’t watched, so that’s not it….

Here with Red and OH WHAT THE FUCK CAIRO I HATE YOU SO MUCH
Yesterday's Pants
A blog-thingy about the Mariners and stuff.
I am hereby rooting for the opponent in every game that Miguel Cairo starts in
unless it’s Felix Day
Determined, Jonesing Commentor
Aww it's pink-bat day.
Breast cancer awareness, yo.
at least
Batista isn’t walking the world….. results aren’t different though.

Giving up hits is less annoying than giving up all those walks though

true
and the first two were of the pussy variety.

More boring than good 'ol Washburn?
Because I think I fell asleep in the third inning or so last night.

I miss the first six minutes of the game and all hell breaks loose.

Hm...
Should I break out the flightstick and play some Ace Combat 6?

Ichiro hurts this team by...
Ah well you know.
he hurts women's chances of surviving breast cancer too
no pink bat, no pink arm bands….. nothing…. he’s selfish!

Maybe Ichiro doesn't have a mother
It’s like that episode of X-Files. All great baseball players are actually aliens in disguise.

i'd like to rephrase my last comment
we sure do suck*
- except ichiro!
Dammit Mariners..
Don’t score runs, we need to be as bad as the owner wanted the Indians ot be in Major league.
Pop goes the buttsy on the left hand side!!
I remember when Yuni
used to be able to do that…..

I put a bet on the rays winning the WS
100/1 hooray for stupid uk bookies
Honestly I'd just love to see the Rays get into the playoffs.
That would make my year.
that happening means the yanks dont get into the playoffs
so yeah that’d be awesome.
Realistically I'd like to see Boston get the East
and Tampa Bay get the WC. It’s a long-shot, but it would be another smart FO giving the highway salute to the Old Boys club.
I have bet with a friend that the Rays will win 80.
Hahaha he was so happy to make the bet and now he realizes what I knew: the Rays are good.
Go Nova
I've got a similar bet.
Wagered $500 that the Rays would finish over .500 with a friend of mine. Sucker was dumb enough to take me up on it.
You have that bet written and signed, yes?
by JoeyJoJoJuniorShabadoo on May 11, 2008 1:44 PM PDT up reply actions
I wish my friend was willing to bet that much.
At one point I had a 10,000-1 $1 bet that the NCAA Final would be Texas-Davidson. I made this before the brackets came out…and my friend was freaking out when they both got to the Sweet Sixteen.
Go Nova
needs to hit Pierzynski
then we’ll see some fireworks.
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
well that's unusual
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
nope
just a nice play by Kenji though I’m not convinced he caught that in fair play.

Just saw the replay.
Heads up play by Kenji, even if the ball wasn’t fair.
I win a bet!!
I thought there would be a 2-6 double play in today’s game!
I fucking hate you Mariners

Clement needs some hits
to rebuild his confidence….
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
His LD% is pretty good.
He’s been working the count deep. Overall I like what he’s shown.
his K% is what is abnormal
he hits it hard when he puts it in play… he’s just being fooled way too much right now.
Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!
by MfaninAlaska on May 11, 2008 1:50 PM PDT up reply actions
And there's a walk.
I’m going to chalk up the K% to a small sample size right now.
IT seems like hes FORCING the count deep
Instead of having a good eye, and LETTING it go deep.
so he gets himself down 2-0 with the mindset of just taking some pitches no matter what.
get him to swing hard and early, and he’ll be set.
but thats just what i think.
He's looking really lost
I think you’re right about the confidence thing
by Graham MacAree on May 11, 2008 1:51 PM PDT up reply actions
So I see that Johnnie Mac was hitting the bottle before the game.
This is one of the weirdest lineups I’ve ever seen
Go Nova
Fantastic at bat
I fucking hate you Mariners
Bases loaded, no out.
TRIIIIPPLEEEEE PLAAAAAAAYYYYY!
Wlad K

You can't put him in the pen
He’d gain enough velocity to start injuring our catchers

Like Derek mentioned yesterday
Another good thing about losing is that I can take solace in the knowledge that it’s screwing over the scalpers.

I propose
that during the offseason all of the Mariners are forced to serve as deckhands on the Deadliest catch. That’ll toughen them up.

That was very embarassing.
Wow. I’m almost proud, but not really because that would make me a retard
Go Nova
This is even more pathetic
than Seahawks short-yardage rushing last season.
That type of behavior is innapropriate for a family setting
That’s why we like Mac.

Mariners Batting Line
Today: .375/.444/.625
1 run. Hahahaha I love this team
(Obviously there’s only been 9 PA, but still.)
Go Nova
What is the record of most consecutive losses?
If we have the record for most wins in a season, we must obtain this record.
