Joyous Times

Cairo in the lineup again and batting 2nd.

On the plus side they are sticking with Clement even as he struggles at the plate.

Miguel Cairo is batting fucking second?

That’s it. I’m not watching today’s game

nope

I was thinking the same thing…. and I’d rather have him hitting second then Cairo and I’m not a fan of either one of them.

I'd take Triunfel over both of them

Though setting his development back several years and possibly recking his psychological framework isn’t in the Mariners best interest. Let’s trade him for Griffey!

not for a first baseman

this team needs someone that can hit homeruns…. Truinfel wouldn’t be the answer…. even if you were talking in jest.

if they’re going to go to the minors for someone to come up to develop, I’d rather see them bring up Saunders from AA and put him in Left… and Raul at first.

I was watching the Rays

but they were trailing so I figured I might be bringing them Mariner luck so I stopped.

I'm telling you

I would quit watching the M’s, but they’ve lost games I haven’t watched, so that’s not it….

I have bet with a friend that the Rays will win 80.

Hahaha he was so happy to make the bet and now he realizes what I knew: the Rays are good.

I've got a similar bet.

Wagered $500 that the Rays would finish over .500 with a friend of mine. Sucker was dumb enough to take me up on it.

by BrianL on May 11, 2008 1:43 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I wish my friend was willing to bet that much.

At one point I had a 10,000-1 $1 bet that the NCAA Final would be Texas-Davidson. I made this before the brackets came out…and my friend was freaking out when they both got to the Sweet Sixteen.

Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!

His LD% is pretty good.

He’s been working the count deep. Overall I like what he’s shown.

by BrianL on May 11, 2008 1:49 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

his K% is what is abnormal

he hits it hard when he puts it in play… he’s just being fooled way too much right now.

Midnight Baseball - No Lights - Only in Alaska!

by MfaninAlaska on May 11, 2008 1:50 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

And there's a walk.

I’m going to chalk up the K% to a small sample size right now.

by BrianL on May 11, 2008 1:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

IT seems like hes FORCING the count deep

Instead of having a good eye, and LETTING it go deep.

so he gets himself down 2-0 with the mindset of just taking some pitches no matter what.

get him to swing hard and early, and he’ll be set.

but thats just what i think.

by PShwa on May 11, 2008 1:51 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

He's looking really lost

I think you’re right about the confidence thing

that during the offseason all of the Mariners are forced to serve as deckhands on the Deadliest catch. That’ll toughen them up.
