With a 10:35am scheduled start time tomorrow, I wasn't about to sit through another MLB.tv archived game so I could write a recap that most of you would miss. And it's a good thing, too, because holy crap we can't beat the Orioles.

Save us, Erik Felix. Be a hero. Jose Lopez is cool and all right now, but he's not exactly the guy I want to have leading this team. I'd rather it be someone trustworthy and better.

That mistake sucks...

You have to visit the hardware store with paint samples to match, buy a patch kit (or make your own), and if it's a textured wall you have to spend all sorts of work matching the texture, which is pretty much impossible.

Not that I'd know from experience, or anything...

Someone better than Lopez? Sure it's a SSS, but the kid has been lighting it up lately. For better or for worse there isn't anyone I'd rather see leading the team right now, Ichiro not included.

Wow...

Where are people pulling these photos? Even with the angle advantage, these are some amazing shots. Sports photography is usually crap. SI/ESPN is usually little more than the money to buy a Cannon with a 1000 mm+ lens and watch an event. The whole "infinite monkeys" effect.

Unlike typical SI shots this photo is well framed. There's some softness, but I think that's due to the fact that they're shooting at a moderately high aperture, and slow shutter, because it's such a long lens. Depth of field is very strange. Belre is in focus well past where the catcher is blurred, so I think it's mostlymotion blur due to the shutter speed. Probably shot at 1/30 or slower with a tripod or monopod.
